China is touting the advanced electronics in their new J10A fighter. The J10A is using an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar. AESA systems consist of thousands of tiny radars that make it possible to track many different targets simultaneously. China claims the J10A radar can track ten targets at once, and attack four of them simultaneously (with long range missiles). China has revealed other military AESA radars recently, indicating years of intense research and development in this area.
The J10 is also Chinese made. It looks something like the American F-16, and weighs about the same (19 tons). Like the F-16, and unlike the Su-27, the J10 has only one engine. Originally, the J10 used a Russian AL-31FN engine, but China has been working for a decade to manufacture their own version of this, the WS10A.
It's no accident that the J10 resembles the F-16, because Israel apparently sold them technology for the Israeli Lavi jet fighter. Israel abandoned the Lavi project, because of the high cost and availability of cheaper alternatives (buying F-16s and F-15s from the United States.) But the Lavi was meant to be a super F-16, and incorporated a lot of design ideas from the F-16 (which the Israelis were very familiar with, as they used them, and had developed new components for them.) China has about a dozen J10As in service, and will probably increase production once their WS10A engine is operational (which may be in a year or two.) China's extensive espionage efforts in the U.S. has long sought jet engine and AESA technology.
The Clintons are a gift that just keeps giving.
Nothing has changed since they left.
It was at the last minute that a deal between Israel and China for an AWACS platform was cancelled by the US. Things have changed a lot since then.
To be fair to Israel, most of Israel’s mortal enemies like the Saudis and Egyptians, are sold American weaponry.
The Chinese gave the DNC and the Clintons $250 million in "contributions" during the Clinton era (that we even know about).
Well, if China’s manufacturing success in the retail sector is any indication of their commitment to quality, then we should see the pilots of these new fighters dropping dead of lead poisoning.
Did you even read the article? "It's no accident that the J10 resembles the F-16, because Israel apparently sold them technology for the Israeli Lavi jet fighter." That was back in the 1980's.
I work in a US Aerospace Company and I know for a fact that we have Chinese Nationals working here in very sensitive programs.
These are all done under the H-1B VISA program which is a huge favorite of the GOP when it was in power.
US likely to raise H-1B visa cap
Just read for your self.

Discuss: Should India protest against the US Bill to abolish H1-B visas?
Washington: Proposals to allow more high-technology foreign workers into the US are gaining ground in Congress despite assertions by labour and anti-immigrant lobbies that plenty of Americans are available to fill the jobs.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Republican Senator Orin Hatch is pushing a plan to circumvent the 65,000 cap on H-1B temporary worker visas, under which large numbers of Indian and other foreign high-tech workers are employed in the US, by expanding exemptions, The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday quoting Senate aides familiar with the talks.
The talks mark for the first time that influential Senators are pressing for a temporary increase in the limit. While it is unclear if the move would succeed, Hatch’s effort paves the way for a full airing of visa-overhaul legislation that has already been introduced and will likely be considered after January, the paper said.
The last-minute effort to modify the visa rules as the Congressional session winds down has been prompted by a growing concern among US multinationals and high-tech companies that the current cap will prevent thousands of expert foreign workers (needed by US business and industry) from entering the US next year.
In addition, said the Journal, immigration lawyers, officials and technology trade groups from India, and major US tech companies are pushing to raise the annual visa limit to more than 100,000. Any rule changes likely would be attached to a “must pass” Appropriation Bill.
They’ll probably OEM the manufacturing out the same company that MATEL uses which means it will be recalled within a week as a choking hazard.
Big deal. The F-14 could do better than that 35 years ago. IIRC, the radar in the F-14 could track about 24 targets simultaneously and fire long range missiles at 6. Also, the F-22 would eat their lunch and leave them hanging from their parachutes.
The there’s the question of pilot competency, we’d smoke them out of the sky with crop dusters.
Right... It wasn't Clinton's fault. It was "apparently" the Clinton's and the DNC's most hated nation Israel's fault and if we look deep enough we will find out that in all actuality it was really George W. Bush's fault.
The big-monied interest in this country, whom some here worship, will eventually bury us in the name of higher dividends.
Before we get our collective panties in a wad we need to remember that countries regularly overstate the capabilities of their military hardware. ASEA Radar is the current rage in fighter aircraft so everybody who might wish to export a fighter has to have that feature to have a viable product. My guess is that before too long China will sell a J10 to Pakistan where we will get a look at it. Eventually they’ll be a J10 flying a Dreamland, and then we’ll know how well it stacks up to its hype. My guess: not very well.
