Karl Rove Says He Won't Help GOP Campaigns Try to Defeat Hillary Clinton

Sunday , August 19, 2007

AP

WASHINGTON — White House political adviser Karl Rove offered another critique on Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton on Sunday, saying voters' strong negative opinions about her will be difficult to overcome.

"She enters the general election campaign with the highest negatives of any candidate in the history of the Gallup poll," the outgoing Bush aide said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

"It just says people have made an opinion about her. It's hard to change opinions once you've been a high-profile person in the public eye, as she has for 16 or 17 years."

Asked if there was a desire by the GOP for Clinton to be the Democratic nominee, he ducked the question.

"It's going to be what it's going to be. The Democrats are going to choose the Democratic nominee and the Republicans are going to choose the Republican nominee," he said.

Based on what he’s said about her he apparently doesn’t think they need much help.

I bet (even without looking) that the DUmmies at DU think it’s because she’s his candidate. As the saying goes, “Rove, you magnificent bastard!”

Clinton just might not be the DBM/dems nominee.

If the GOP was smart they'd do everything in their power to get her nominated though.

I'm a little confused. Where does it say that Rove stated or inferred that "he won't help GOP campaigns try to defeat Hillary Clinton"?

Headline is BS. Rove was asked if he would run a GOP campaign in 08, his answer was no but he had friends on most of the campaigns and if they called him for advise he give them his opinion.

I watched the interview and I didn’t hear him specifically state that. Maybe I just missed it.

If Rove started meddling in the 08 campaign, he might equal Hillary’s negatives. When you anger both the right and the left, you have very few friends left.

Typical manipulation by the MSM. Make it sound like he is implying something else so they can call him a liar later if Rove does what the MSM media is afraid of.

Will Hillry the former unaccountable co-president for 8 years be the next president, I don’t have a clue. However, I won’t be one bit surprised if she does get elected given who all are running on the Republican ticket. This nation has been primed and pumped upon negativity over the past few decades, just look at President Bush’s poll numbers.

The media twits are all about news of negatives, and so long as they continue to spew their ugliness over this nation I do not expect to see a change. Oh and it will be all under the name of peace, peace, peace, and love, love, love like right out of the 60’s so called peace freaks pretenders while they strip US clean bare. While the media freaks sit high atop their ivory towers pushing ‘hate’ crimes legislation they are the very purveyors of hate with their twisted holy than thou twisted accusations of who are the grassroots of hate. (pithy eh?)

"She (Hillary) enters the general election campaign with the highest negatives of any candidate in the history of the Gallup poll,"

She wears the same millstone around her neck that Gore was made to carry.

Good, the more he tries to defeat HRC, the more Americans will warm to bringing back the Clintons via the HRC vehicle.

Still, many Americans would not be voting “for” HRC per se but to bring back her “loveable” “husband”, whom many still admire and want to emulate.

I saw the interview, and Rove’s “denial” was a non-denial denial. Wallace wanted him to commit to a condidate, and Rove wasn’t biting - as he failed to bite on numerous occasions during the interview.

Rove will be involved at some level with the party’s chosen candidate when the time comes. (He won’t be able to help himself.)

It figures that low-life scumbag, Bill Clinton, would unleash his political whore on us.

This report is actually kind of bizarre.

Its an AP report carried on FOXNews.com of the NBC interview.

What about a FOXNews.com report of the FOX News Chris Wallace interview?
