EL PASO, TX. - Police investigate an early morning stabbing on El Paso's eastside that leads a man from one restaurant to another seeking help.

Around 1 a.m. police and medical crews were dispatched to the Hooters restaurant, near Cielo Vista Mall. Police tell ABC-7 that a Hispanic man tried to make his way through the front doors of the eatery. He'd been stabbed several times, and was bleeding profusely.

Medical crews rushed the victim to R.E. Thomason hospital where doctors say his injuries are potentially life-threatening. As police continued to investigate, they found the man wasn't stabbed at Hooters, but at an establishment farther east.

Authorities tell us the man was attacked at Hiney's, at Lomaland and Gateway Blvd. East. Somehow he made his way to Hooters, though police are unsure of how he got there. No word yet if any arrests were made. ABC-7 is closely monitoring this situation and will bring you any updates as they become available.

Logical. All the other anatomical restaurants between Hineys and Hooters were closed, and clearly he urgently needed nursing.

Hineys, Hooters, and a stabbing. Sounds like a helluva successful bachelor party.

According to Google, Hiney's to Hooters is a bit over 5 miles. (Now that's a strange sentence to type ... :-).

5 miles is quite a ways to go while “bleeding profusely”. The article didn't mention any transportation: “Somehow he made his way to Hooters, though police are unsure of how he got there.”

That's what I was thinking too, but then I realized that there's a hospital on the way from Hiney's to Hooters. However this guy got from where he was stabbed to where he was found, he had to pass right by a hospital (Del Sol Medical Center, which has emergency services available).

If it had been his friends (or some Good Samaritan) who moved him from Hiney's to Hooters, why didn't they just leave him at the hospital in between?

Weird, huh? Paging Lt. Columbo ...

Ugh, I was at the ET the other day and guess what the big sign at the front desk was? One guess. Yep, you got it. It was in Spanish informing illegals by law they could give birth there and recieve treatment without any questions.

Is Hooters closer to the border crossing than the hopsital? Perhaps his cousins merely dumped him out of the back of the pickup on their way outta the country.

ET = ER

Actually might have been a Freudian slip.
