Yes, they can tunnel, but we also have ways of detecting them. My suggestion for really controlling the border got yanked last time I posted it. ;o)

Not sure, but look at the bright side. Hunter does not have to obfuscate his record on illegal aliens...or anything else for that matter.

If by naysayers, you are referring to me, I am merely providing you proof that he is grandstanding because he knows danged good and well the fence isn’t funded. Yes, he has a great record on immigration, but hopefully you are not so gullible as to fall for this little publicity stunt of his. Cheerlead on if you must, but please don’t overlook the facts presented. Only Congress can appropriate funds and they haven’t done so, Hunter knows that.
To: ravingnutter
The fence is not FULLY funded. As of last month they had $700+ MILLION dollars cash on hand AND all the waivers they needed form the regulatory side of the equation.

Cite please, I provided my sources. The facts don't lie...Congress initially funded 1.2 billion that bill, not all of it was for border fencing and the law withheld $940 million until the Appropriations committee approves the design, per my sources. You do the math on that and tell me how much fence they can build at $3M/Mile. The fence funding is currently an amendment to the Defense Appropriations bill, which has not been passed. Hunter knows that, he's grandstanding. And FYI, it was Bush that ordered the regulatory waivers and fought the envirowhackos when it was challenged.

ravingnutter is like my 14 year old granddaughter..."WHY do we need borders?" That's what this is about.

And you are a liar, you have no clue where I stand on this issue. I was behind
Tancredo's immigration plan in 2005 (see posts #27, #38, #40, #44) and didn't think it went far enough as it didn't have an anchor baby clause. Talk about being childish, I merely provided you with proof about his shenanigans and you accuse me of being an open borders person? What next...you going to call me a Bushbot? You BDS people are so predictable. Get a grip.
To: pissant
And Bush signed that, just like I said...so what is your point? Do you not know the difference between authorization (that bill) and appropriation (funding)? I am not against Hunter on this fence issue nor you. I am just saying he is grandstanding on the fence, he knows it is not funded. Good grief...
To: AuntB
You need to ask Duncan that...he’s a Congressman, he should know where the funding is.

LMAO, now why would anyone be inclined to call you that?

I told you it was not fully funded. And you are mistaken, there is no $940 M being witheld for congressional approval. The bill covers more than just the fence, but it directs exactly where to build the fence, and gives a timeline to do so. At this rate, they would take 30 years to build it. The purpose of the $1.2B seed money was to get them moving ASAP. Even if only 75% was spent on the fence, that’s $900M. At the inflated rate of 3 million a mile, that’s 300 miles. They’ve built roughly 20.
To think that Hunter, the bills author, who knows the EXACT language and intent of the bill (pretty easy to see by reading it too) is grandstanding is ridiculous.
Yes, Bush signed it. I applaud that. But he was “suprised” last month when Hunter told him how little of the fence has been built.
