Acts 6:4
But we will give ourselves continually to prayer,
and to the ministry of the Word.
You have given us this great land filled with immeasurable treasures and resources, and we come before You today to express our thankfulness for the blessings You have provided. Your mercies are new to us every morning. To those to whom much as been given, much is expected. We ask, Father, that You instill in us the desire to please You who have been so generous and gracious toward us. Help us to strive to bring Your Word to all people through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord.
Father, please accept our humble thanks for the work You are doing in President Bush. Thank You for instilling in him the desire to begin his day with prayer. Help him always to seek to do Your will, to return no one evil for evil, to love and respect his wife, and to seek to empower the people of the United States. We are grateful, Father, for this man You have chosen to lead us. Help him to be fruitful in every good work and to bring glory and honor to Your Name. Please give him the mind of Christ, that he may be filled with Your wisdom regarding Iraq, and regarding all aspects of foreign and domestic policy. Father, please provide everything he needs to do Your will in all situations, and may Your Name be glorified in his administration.
Father, we ask You to create a sense of decency in our media people, that would lift them up out of the gutters of human thought in which many of them have chosen to dwell. Where there is the desire to manipulate the facts, please teach them to report truthfully, acknowledging that all truth is based upon an authority higher than themselves. Send messengers of the Holy Spirit to them, Lord, and help them to learn of Your ways. Help them to come to know You as the only way, the only truth, and only life.
Hide our military men and women under the shadow of Your wings, Father. Keep them safe from hidden dangers and let no weapons formed against them prosper. Help them to be successful in all that has been assigned them. We pray for their safe return home to their loved ones soon.
Help us to remember in prayer the persecuted Church and Your beloved Israel. Guide us, Father, and let our words, our thoughts, our deeds be pleasing in Your sight. May we give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word. We love You and we thank You for hearing our prayers each day as we seek Your will to be done in America. May Your Name be glorified through Jesus Christ, Amen.
Please join us in prayer.
God Bless and Amen to your Prayer!

A Psalm of David. To You I will cry, O LORD my Rock: Do not be silent to me, Lest, if You are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit.
Psalms 28:2
Hear the voice of my supplications When I cry to You, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.

Psalms 28:4
Give them according to their deeds, And according to the wickedness of their endeavors; Give them according to the work of their hands; Render to them what they deserve.
Psalms 28:5
Because they do not regard the works of the LORD, Nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them And not build them up.

Blessed be the LORD, Because He has heard the voice of my supplications!

(NKJV)
“Lift them up for ever.”
- Psalm 28:9
God’s people need lifting up. They are very heavy by nature. They have no
wings, or, if they have, they are like the dove of old which lay among the
pots; and they need divine grace to make them mount on wings covered with
silver, and with feathers of yellow gold. By nature sparks fly upward, but
the sinful souls of men fall downward. O Lord, “lift them up for ever!”
David himself said, “Unto thee, O God, do I lift up my soul,” and he here
feels the necessity that other men’s souls should be lifted up as well as
his own. When you ask this blessing for yourself, forget not to seek it
for others also. There are three ways in which God’s people require to be
lifted up. They require to be elevated in character. Lift them up, O Lord;
do not suffer thy people to be like the world’s people! The world lieth in
the wicked one; lift them out of it! The world’s people are looking after
silver and gold, seeking their own pleasures, and the gratification of
their lusts; but, Lord, lift thy people up above all this; keep them from
being “muck-rakers,” as John Bunyan calls the man who was always scraping
after gold! Set thou their hearts upon their risen Lord and the heavenly
heritage! Moreover, believers need to be prospered in conflict. In the
battle, if they seem to fall, O Lord, be pleased to give them the victory.
If the foot of the foe be upon their necks for a moment, help them to
grasp the sword of the Spirit, and eventually to win the battle.
Lord, lift up thy children’s spirits in the day of conflict; let them not
sit in the dust, mourning for ever.
Suffer not the adversary to vex them sore, and make them fret; but if
they have been, like Hannah, persecuted, let them sing of the mercy of a
delivering God.
We may also ask our Lord to lift them up at the last! Lift them up by
taking them home, lift their bodies from the tomb, and raise their souls
to thine eternal kingdom in glory.
