way to duck the question, Rudy. You can make a city “safer” and still be against the 2nd amendment all at the same time.
To: Natchez Hawk
Duncan Hunter is my first choice, Thompson is my second, Romney is a distant third. I like Tancredo, but don’t think he is in the running right now, but I would vote for him in a heartbeat if he were nominated.
I view McCain and Giuliani as enemies to my party and my Republic - almost as bad the DemonRats.

I agree with you. But if the chips were down and you HAD to choose between Romney and Hitlery, what would you do?
If it were between Giuliani or McCain or Hitlery, I would vote independent. But I think ROmney might turn out better than Bush - which says a lot. I liked his rhetoric on New York as a sanctuary city - which it was and still is.

Rudy's administration's policies did help reduce crime in NYC, along with a lot of help from a booming economy.
However, his gun control policies did not contribute to that. The proof is in the fact that those policies have not been successful elsewhere.
Fred said there were a lot of things to like about NYC, but the gun control policies were not among them.
Rudy's response was really nonresponse. It was particularly unresponsive because the lawsuit against gun companies was tossed out by the higher courts, so it is hard to see how he is claiming that lawsuit as a successful crime fighting policy.

That’s Brady right next to him - and I don’t mean from the Brady Bunch!!!

Rudy’s none-response speaks louder than words about what he REALLY thinks about the Second Amendment (its up to the states), and the Bill of Rights.
If the Right to keep and bear arms is up to the states, so is Freedom of speech, religion, etc.
An attorney who twists the argument to please his position!!

My family and I have ABSOLUTELY decided that IF one of the "Three Turds Who Won't Flush" make it to the 2008 Presidential Election courtesy of the GOP, that we will either pencil somebody in, or vote for the Constitution Party nominee...whoever that might be. We will NOT vote for the lesser of two evils though. NOT AGAIN.
I've been telling people here all week that the GOP is in grave danger, but they don't realize it. When core supporters like us abandandon them, and the best they come up is with these three current dreadful men, trouble is coming.
IF the GOP manages to get one of the Unflushables on the ballot, and the DNC has Hillary on it, the GOP will effectively hand the Presidency to Hillary.
I've scared the crap out of people by saying this over the past several days. I've been accused of being stupid, a Libertarian, a trouble maker, a fear mongerer, crazy...etc...
The fact is that I'm none of those things. In fact, I'm a registered Republican. But me and those like me are tired of messing aorund. It's unfortunate that the GOP doesn't see it because if they continue on their current course, this split, Hillary will end up in the White House.

That’s actually one of the better photos I’ve seen of Fred Thompson, but that slogan’s got to go. Makes his supporters sound like a bunch of mindless robots and even I’d give ya’ll more credit than that ;)

Rudy inasmuch accused Fred of living in “TV land,” and related how safe life is for families in NYC, even though “the right to carry arms is as important as the right of free speech.”
Go figger...

Rudy's administration's policies did help reduce crime in NYC, along with a lot of help from a booming economy.I lived in NJ during those years. After Mayor Dinkins, NYC was the murder capital, bordering on anarchy.
Rudy was the right man at the right time. He was electable, but still conservative enough on crime to save the city from its own liberalism.
Rudy gets no credit from the majority of New Yorkers. By the time of 9/11, Giuliani's approval rating was in the toilet and Dems were ready to take back Gracie Mansion.
However, the United States is not in the same shape as NYC. We do not need Rudy.

This guy suddenly became Mr. Republican after 9-11.
BEFORE that he supported two liberal Democrats in New Jersey and New York against Republican candidates (they were libs too, but “that’s the lay of the land” (General Webb - “Last of the Mohegans”) and was outspoken in his support of libral social issues.
Even now, he has hardly undergone a conversion. He is still parcing phrases and words, trying to look like what he manifestly is NOT - a conservative Republican.
