Giuliani and Thompson in Gun Battle

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani's campaign took aim at Fred Thompson, after the former senator posted a blog on his Web site criticizing New York City gun-control laws and singling out Giuliani by name. "When I was working in television, I spent quite a bit of time in New York City,” Thompson wrote, according to The Hill newspaper. "There are lots of things about the place I like, but New York gun laws don’t fall in that category. "Now, the same activist federal judge from Brooklyn who provided Mayor Giuliani’s administration with the legal ruling it sought to sue gun makers, has done it again. Last week, he created a bizarre justification to allow New York City to sue out-of-state gun stores that sold guns that somehow ended up in criminal hands in the Big Apple.” Giuliani’s campaign reacted on Tuesday: "Those who live in New York in the real world - not on TV - know that Rudy Giuliani’s record of making the city safe for families speaks for itself,” Katie Levinson, Giuliani's communications director, said in response to press questions. "No amount of political theater will change that

Truth is, Rudy’s positions on lots of issues mirror liberal Democrat positions.

More than anything else, Rudy’s response to Thompson on this issue reflects his posture on social issues.

Rudy is a social liberal. Hitler or Stalin could have ended crime in New York also, but I doubt if we anyone in America would support their social philosophies. Not that Giuliani is a Stalinist or Nazi,l even though he acts like one at times. The point is, his ability to clean up New York doesn;t translate into suitability for public office.

I hope to hell that Thompson declares and soon.

I will NEVER vote for Rudy. If someone is going to try and strip me of my constitutional rights, I would prefer a Democrat to try, not someone alleging to be a member of my own political party.

When I first read this title I thought it was a “Shootist” style showdown!

Giuliani vs. Thompson when the clock strikes 3!

Rudy sure fits a democrat profile!

IT is for the murder of unborn babies!
IT is a big gun control nut!
IT covered for the invaders in ITS city!
IT surrounded ITself with thugs!

Why does IT have an R by ITS name instead of a D?

Very very very good point!

Lets see,

One lawyer is fighting a position that argues against the bill of rights...

the other lawyer is arguing the position in favor of the bill of rights.

One lawyer wants to take away a right
the other lawyer want to keep that right

hmmmm

my money is on F.Thompson. (Rudy is just intelectually unarmed on this one)

But, but, but Rosey’s armed guards get to carry guns and that’s what’s really important here.

“FT is not my guy, but he’s dead on here.”

Nice to see some intellectual honesty from the opposition for a change.
