The Last Hollywood Conservative (Vanity)
27 AUG 07 | Old Sarge

Posted on 08/27/2007 6:20:54 AM PDT by Old Sarge

Here is the topic for an attempt at serious discourse: Who Was The Last Hollywood Conservative?

Ronald Reagan: Left Hollywood for the political arena;

John Wayne: Passed away in the 70's before Reagan was elected to the Presidency, still making films up to his death;

Charlton Heston: Was still working in the 1990's before Alzheimer's took him;

Please, discuss this with me and, if you can, add to the list?

Me, too. Patricia Heaton’s also a conservative; she’s even pro-life!

She was wonderful in speaking up for Terri. God bless her.

Manson said he’d have voted for Bush in 2000 (”and not necessarily by default”), if he’d cared enough to vote.

Isn’t that interesting how even the biggest stars can’t get their projects bankrolled? Well, self-financing probably gives them more freedom too. It took Robert Duvall 10 years to get “The Apostle” to the screen. So glad he did; what a film.

I don’t know what Lee Marvin’s politics were. I do know that his tough-guy image wasn’t just an image, and that in his youth he was expelled from several schools for bad behavior. And as a Marine sniper, he was wounded at Saipan and earned a Purple Heart when most of his platoon was wiped out. It may have been a blessing in disguise, because he was sent home before the battle of Iwo Jima.

>> Metallica
Godsmack
ZZ Top

Add Kid Rock, 50 Cent, Marilyn Manson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Toby Keith, Jessica Simpson, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, LeeAnn Womack, Martina McBride, Charlie Daniels, Ted Nugent, The Gatlin Brothers, Sara Evans, Brooks and Dunn, etc.

and, it seems all the worthwile musical acts ... from Grunge Rock, Heavy Metal, Rock, Pop, Christian and Country are all conservative.

The days of Woodstock are long gone. Godsmack rules.

It seems to me that conservatives are the more intelligent members of our society. If so, is it any wonder that you don’t find conservatives among the K-fed, Brittany, Lindsey, Paris crowd?

Are there any young actors/actresses who are NOT operating on a sub-moronic level?

Bruce Willis has (unofficially) endorsed Fred Thompson for President (spoke about it on O’Reilly). Thompson was in Die Hard II, so they know each other ...

Incidentally - Mike Piazza apparently described meeting Rush Limbaugh as being akin to “meeting George Washington”.

Almost makes me less angry at Piazza for being so pathetic on my fantasy baseball team this season ...

Stephen has now (9/30/07) officially gone out on his own and while he continues to have a very good relationship with Luis Palau ministries, he will be going in a completely different direction -- away from outdoor festivals that could only seat 2,00 - 3,000 at the sports events, into indoor venues that will seat 15,000 - 20,000!

More lost youth and their families, to reach for Christ!

Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are definitely Republicans, and Britney Spears is supposedly a Republican (asked to perform at 2000 Convention, but bowed out because conservatives didn’t like the idea).

There are a LOT of crazy celebrity conservatives as well. Stephen Baldwin is a drug addict. Marilyn Manson is virtually satanic. Vince Vaughn has had addiction problems. Vincent Gallo caught flak for performing in an explicit hardcore scene (with actress Chloe Sevigny) in one of his movies.

And, Craig Biggio’s batting average has fallen significantly over the past few seasons.
