Yes, but it's a brand of Catholicism that most American Catholics would not recognize. It's more folk religion and superstionalism with a nominally Catholic facade. My Hispanic wife has horror stories from her childhood.

This has nothing to do with Anglicanism, per se, but it is a very interesting item about the growth of Christianity in the heart of Islam.

The UAE is one of the most open nations over there, and while officially Muslim it has not been constricted by the fundamentalists... and as such its one of the most successful and prosperous nations over there, in terms of everyday people.

Christianity always beats Islam over time, which is why Islam when given the opportunity will attempt to kill it. The message of Mohammed is pale when placed beside that of Christ.
