Native American tribes. In addition to everything else, the reservations have a big time domestic violence problem.

In 2003, when it moved from Treasury to Justice, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms became the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. They still call it “ATF,” though, as opposed to “ATFE.” (Answer Man has spent some time around ATF agents. They love explosives, so it’s nice to see that reflected in the name.)

ATF is a principal law enforcement agency within the U.S. Department of Justice

They are tax collectors with delusions of grandeur. Or at least they *were* until they moved to DoJ. Now they don't bother with the "tax" fig leaf. They exist to violated the Constitution. They are also the very bottom of the barrel of federal law enforcement agencies, and it's a very deep barrel.

When did the “BATF” become the “BATFE”?

When they were transferred to the Department of Justice, from the Treasury department. It was part of the reorganization of federal law enforcement that helped create the Homeland Security Department. On November 25, 2002, the Homeland Security Act of 2002 split the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms or BATF or, more commonly the ATF, into two different parts. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF or ATF) was renamed the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and was moved into the Justice Department from the Treasury Department, and is responsible for the law enforcement effort.

Not only is the barrel in his ear, but his finger is on the trigger.

The inmates are running the asylum.

"Tribal Law" is Sharia (sp) crap! Are we now under Islamic law?

I think they're probably referring to law enforcement and court systems on Indian reservations.

When did the “BATF” become the “BATFE”?

There was so much confusion as how to pronounce BATF that they added the 'e' to ensure the 'A' is pronounced as a long 'A' not the short 'A'. :^)

And just think, they started out as mere tax collectors.

You, too can have career success and attain high power if you join in the effort to scare everyone silly and turn the nation into a bunch of pencil-pushers.

My guess is that it’s a joke; I doubt that even the ATF would actually be stupid enough to let that kind of pic out.

by adding “tribal offense” and “Tribal Law” to the definition of Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence.
Just what the heck does this mean??

“Tribal Law” is Sharia (sp) crap! Are we now under Islamic law?

No if you live on a Indian reservation you are under “Tribal Law” tribal courts etc. not US courts.
