Judge Denies Obese Man's Request to Adopt Baby

DALLAS There's new information today on an overweight father going to extreme measures to adopt a child.

Gary Stocklaufer says he's still being treated unfairly by a judge in his home state of Missouri. Despite having weight loss surgery in Dallas, he received notice from a judge overruling his motion for a rehearing to adopt his cousin's son.

Back in June, the Stocklaufers petitioned to adopt 4-month-old Max, who had lived with them since he was a week old. Gary was denied the adoption because he was overweight.

When news of the court denial spread a hospital in Dallas agreed to provide Gary with Laparoscopic Obesity or Lap-Band surgery for free.

&t&tDid you notice there was no mention of Gary’s wife?

Perhaps Gary is just a Big Fat Queer and that is actully why they will not permit him to adopt.

From the article:

Cindy Stocklaufer said the judge unfairly discriminated against her husband because of his weight when they gave Max to another couple for possible adoption.Maybe you shouldn't dive for the "Post" button before you actually have read the article. I'm constantly amazed and depressed by the number of people on this site who read the lead sentence and deduce the rest with their psychic powers.

That was an ugly and ignorant statement.

Fitness is one of the new, improved moralities. You can choose fitness, greenness or both. Judeo-Christian morals are so passé.

500 pounds and probably was on SSI so they would get more government money with more dependents.

did you miss the part that said he was a truck driver?

mumble to self: I wish people would be more careful before jumping to conclusions about people = especially when posting them on the world wide web...

If you read the article in #8 above, it mentions Gary’s wife.
