A Major Confrontation With A Wacko Liberal

Posted on 09/08/2007 9:57:37 PM PDT by finch

We relax by taking our dog to the local dog park and chat with others who bring their dogs. Today, a man sat across from us and began his tirade about the government's conspiracy in blowing up the World Trade Center.

I've heard this before so just nodded and let him continue. His history lesson finally caused me to jump in. He believes that Iran is really our friend and that George Bush is only attempting to gain an excuse to use a nuke.

I then interjected that the current leader of Iran is a believer of the 12th Iman, he didn't have a clue. When I tried to explain his belief of the end of the world, he stated that Iran is our friend and Bush is the believer of Ammagedon.

When I suggested he read "The Looming Tower", and that it just received the Pulitzer, he referred me to the BBC.

The conversation was not heated until I mentioned Clinton's disregard for people, namely women. He jumped up, spit out "who cares, Bush wants to murder people throughout the world", ran out of the park, leaving his wife and his dog.

My friend was extremely upset. He said that my citing sources intiminated the guy. And, that I should refrain from expressing my strong opinions.

I would like to hear from others as to how you would handle a situation like this.

They are generally impossible to deal with unfortunately. I guess they were ‘born that way’ in most cases. Pounding sand can be more productive than trying to rationalize insanity.

Remaining calm and hitting them with the facts creates hysteria every time. Good job. Tell your friend to get a spine.

Screw Him ...He is a lunatic.
there is no right way to address these kind of scum...they are demented, and cannot be reasoned with..they spew their
consipicy diatribes in public like Facist bullys
next time just laugh at him and say...”youre insane”
if he trys to approach, kick him in the nuts.

my citing sources intiminated the guy.

That's what usually happens when you tell "progressives" the truth.

Truth is to Liberals what Crucifixes, Garlic and Holy water are to Vampires.

You have got to be freaking kidding me? There was no conspriacy we the US would have not at that time believed that people would have flown jets into buildings. Everytime I hear that 9/11 was an inside job I want to throw up.
It has been disproved by several times by noted scientists time and time again.

ran out of the park, leaving his wife and his dog.

Next time bring a pit bull with 6 gazillion psi of bite pressure to "request" that he stay and listen to your sensible arguments (or at least give him a reason to cry and run home).

Most leftists liberals cannot deal with facts and realities when presented to them in rational manner. It upsets their delusional nirvana. Do it anyway...

Good for you. Liberals never want to hear the truth especially those suffering from BDS. The more that we speak the truth and do not be afraid of being vocal, the more they are exposed for the wackos they really are.

Over the past ten years...I’ve read an awful lot...from both books and the internet. I’ve continually found that when stupid arguments come up...especially over global warming or things Bush did...when you start citing actual references, dates, etc....the argument is dead within 60 seconds. The other guy tends to feel left out in this argument because he based his stance on emotion...not fact. I would strongly encourage people to subscribe to high quality information magazines (not Newsweek or Time though)...read deeply on situations...and to have five key talking points with facts ready to go on the top 25 subjects of the month. Your arguments will be shorter and almost non-existent after a while.

I suppose you should only express weak opinions. Preferably ones that have little or not basis in fact, and are about subjects that really don't matter much. The most important thing is not to offend liberals.</sarcasm>

That's how liberals honor the upcoming 9/.11 anniversary.

That's why they must be defeated.

Exactly as you did. Your friend is being a dope. My siter-in-law was/is the same as that guy. After having a discussion with her one day she weepyly told my wife I "wasn't fair because I used logic" (and she's a freakin' SCHOOL teacher). THe types of people need to be rhetorically beaten down at every opportunity...

What magazines do you recommend? I swore off mags a long time ago. Couldn’t deal with the bias.
