If I could, I’d relay to President Bush that he ought to end his speech tomorrow night with something like “Since the congressional democrats have shown their inability to be bi-partisan, I hereby appoint Theodore Olsen by recess appointment as the next attorney general of the United States. He is a fine man and unworthy of the same disrespectful and blatant harrassment that the democrats showed to General Petraeus.”

The President should nominate his choice, be it Olson, Karl Rove, Robert Bork, or Ann Coulter. Let the Dems shoot the nominee down, then just make a recess appointment when they go on their year-end break.
Of course not! They never made a peep about Janet Reno. From Waco to Elian Gonzalez, I don't think she was too familiar with the rule of law. Even before being AG she made her reputation on very questionable child abuse cases....

I can understand where the “patriotic,” cowardly DemocRATS would not want someone whose spouse was murdered by their Islamofascist buddies being confirmed as Attorney General. The DemocRATS have too much invested in America’s defeat by Islam.
Harry Reid and the Dems would really like to avoid questioning Olson. They’ve never much liked him to begin with, but it will be tough (even for shameless Dems) to bring up the Patriot Act when they know full well that Olson’s wife was on board the plane that crashed into the Pentagon on 9/11.
