Just wanted to share this with my God-loving, pet-loving FRiends here on this wonderful Sunday morning! Moose was a feral kitten on a dairy farm in east Texas when we adopted him almost 12 years ago and named him "Moose" after Daryl Johnston because he loved to watch Cowboy football games.
He was always extremely healthy but when we moved back to Texas in 2003 from California, I discovered a growth under his right 'armpit', and took him to the vet to have it checked out. Over the course of the next year, the tiny lump grew to be the size of a golf ball. After several visits to the vet, it stopped growing, and the vet decided it in all probability wasn't cancerous, just a benign fatty growth of some sorts. It didn't seem to be attached to anything serious, and it didn't bother Moose to manipulate it, so we've been keeping an eye on it for the past 4+ years. We talked about operating to remove it, but the vet was worried since it was close to Moose's heart, so we decided to leave it alone unless it started growing out of control. My daughter misunderstood the vet's explanation and told my husband Moose must have eaten a golf ball, so that's what we've teased him since then--"Moose, don't eat any more golf balls today, okay?" :-)
The last time I checked the growth was on Friday, and as usual I teased my cat (my husband's cousin calls Moose "a dog in a cat suit" because of the way he acts). I always check to see if there's been any more growth (there wasn't) and if it hurts him for me to mess with it (it didn't). No big deal.
Until this morning. Moose came to see me first thing I woke up and got in my lap. As usual, and without even consciously thinking about it, my hand reached under his armpit to feel the tumor.
It wasn't there. :-O
Being half asleep still, I checked the other armpit, thinking I was on the wrong side.
It wasn't there.
Now I was wide awake and put Moose down on the floor and started manipulating both armpits, and IT WASN'T THERE!!! :*) :*) :*)
I give all the glory to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit for completely healing Moose of this tumor!!! :*) I know some people don't think pet and animal miracles count, but I've seen them several times before and I know that Jesus loves these creatures too.
Just had to share this witness. Thank you, God, for healing my beloved Moose. :*) May You answer the prayers of everyone else who needs healing as well!
I’m very happy for your family and for Moose!
Sebaceous cyst ...drained spontaneously.
Moose licked up & swallowed contents.
Will soon hack up fatty hair ball.
Nope. Nothing on the outside, no sign of drainage, not a mark under his arm. Nothing. It dissolved on the inside. After almost 5 YEARS of not changing. I’ll stick with the miracle if you don’t mind. ;-)
The Lakota Sioux called the animals their “four legged brothers” and gave thanks for them. They especially honored the buffalo, which gave of itself for their shelter, warmth and sustenance.
Our pets do sustain us, returning the love that we give them, even when people won’t.
Thank you for your story. Just another miracle on God’s Day. Of course, every day is God’s Day.
May Moose enjoy many more Cowboy seasons.
I love real live miracle stories about pets. They reinforce my belief that Heavenly Father loves us all.
As Alabama sang:
Oh I believe there are angels among us.
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours.
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give.
To guide us with a light of love...
They wear so many faces, show up in the strangest places.
To guide us with their mercy, in our time of need...
This includes coming to us in the form of a pet.
My daughter was very very ill when she was 5 years old. She had to have kidney surgery and stay off her feet 6 weeks. I thought getting her a kitten might help pass the time. Unfortunately it was February and no kittens in the newspaper or in pet stores could be found. There wasn’t even a cat for sale or free to good home. I prayed about it on the way home from the hospital and asked Heavenly Father to help me find one for her. I got home and sitting on the couch was a half grown kitten missing her tail and one ear from frost bite. We never found out how she got in the house or where she came from.
We named her Van Gogh our miracle cat. She lived to be 21 years old and died peacefully on our couch licking our hands.
I just met a woman that had breast cancer. She wanted a Jack Russell to pass the time while she healed. She couldn’t afford to buy one and couldn’t find one to adopt. When she arrived home from the hospital, there was a 7 month old Jack sitting in her back yard. Half starved and very dirty.
Tell me there are not miracles
Praise God for the miracle! God loves us and His animal creation. :-) =^..^=
Bookmarked into my cats only folder.
meow!
wooooooo go Moose!
No way, man..
It’s like, Aliens showed up with a new probe..
They just came back and retrieved it, that’s all..
Great news!!!
I’m so happy for Moose and your family. This interests me because I just returned AGAIN from the vet hospital with my sick kitty. After surgery and several thousand dollars, they won’t know what the problem is until the pathology reports come in. I bring her home then have to take her back because she’s still so sick. I pray the results are as yours was with Moose.
Give Moose a squeeze for me.
Add me to the list of those who are delighted with Gods work here.
Wonderful story! I live in E Tx also and all my animals are family to me. Horses, donkey, llama, dogs, cats. I had a wonderful pet goose for more than 15 years who was taken by coyotes Aug. 5 this year. I can’t begin to tell you of the heartbreak.
Three cheers for Moose! God loves him!
As a cat lover, I am so happy for you and Moose! I hope God gives you many more years with your little furbaby!
I’m very happy for you and your cat!
Handsome boy cat! =^..^=
Not bad for a 12-year-old.
