“Simply put,to be “stateless” is to be a person who *no* country on earth will acknowledge, under its particular citizenship laws,as being one of its citizens.”

You are correct, of course, in your definition. The people we meet (the “stateless” ones I referred to) are those who are not actually stateless, but want to be “without a country — without a national loyalty.”

I always tell them that “a man without a country” by his own choice is a man who should never be trusted.

We were serving in the Vladivostok area for two years and met Peace Corp types and UNO volunteers. I don’t think I ever met such weirdos in all my life. I don’t know if all Peace Corps people are the same, but the ones we met in eastern Russia sure were, and seemed to loyal to no country; certainly not to the USA (in their conversation).

The Dim’s forget there were somewhere around 60 million Americans that did not vote for them in the last election. That is a big audience to continually M.F.on a daily basis.

This story should be emailed to every talk show host and hostette. Make sure this idiot gets kicked out of this country ASAP."
To where? As a member of the 'Global Community' and without his U.S. Citizenship, he couldn't get a passport to leave or go anywhere.
Actually, there is a country which was founded for the very purpose of settling people from the United States. It is called, "Liberia," and with a little encouragement I shouldn't wonder if they would accept immigrants from here.

I move that we auction off this guy's American citizenship to the highest qualified bidder, and that the proceeds be used to buy him 40 acres of land, and a mule, in Liberia.

"After careful consideration of the facts of our current situation, I have decided to announce to everyone that I am no longer a citizen of the United States, but a free and independent member of the global community," it read.

Great. Then deport the guy. Above all else, remember that he cannot vote. I don't believe non-citizens can contribute to political parties either.

The Government does not “give” money to schools in a voucher program. The money is given to parents, they decide where to spend it. They decide which schools gets the money.

Further indication of the consequences of Schools of Education — the University Department that teaches the teachers — accepting the lowest GPA/SAT/ACT scores for admittance of all other schools except Journalism.

[Teacher] "who hates this country so much that he sent a letter home to his student's parents urging them to renounce their citizenship in the U.S. as he announced he was so doing."

Why not just accept that he has renounced his U.S. citizenship and deport him? I'm sure Castro, Kim, Assad, or the jerk in Iran would take him. Maybe even Canada would welcome him.

Did anyone read the article at the link "Mike Brooks"? That story is exactly the opposite of what is portrayed here. Somebody needs to do a little more research!

It seems this article is a "knee-jerk" reaction to a completely different truth.

an anti-American teacher in a public school in Chico, California who hates this country so much that he sent a letter home to his student's parents urging them to renounce their citizenship in the U.S. as he announced he was so doing.

If this clown was foreign born, I suggest setting him adrift in the gulf od Mexico with a month's provisions, and let him choose his paradise of choice.

If he was born in the US legally, it is more problematic. I would suggest a fund to get him a one-way ticket to the paradise of his choice on another continent.

I'll take your bet. What would you like to wager?

A fools bet.
I'll take a wild guess that you don't live in Chico. I don't either, but quite close...

There a local High School banned the U.S. flag from being displayed on articles of clothing.

The Flag Code and Flag etiquette instruct us that the flag should not be worn as clothing.

United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Section 176 - Respect for flag, Paragraph D:

(d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.

According to the flag laws of the District of Columbia and most states, the words "Flag of the United States" include any flag, or picture of any flag, in which the colors, the stars, and the stripes may be shown in any number which, WITHOUT careful examination or deliberation, the average person may believe to represent the Flag of the United States.

To be fair the North Carolina school is not just banning American flag but all flags

“Under a new school rule, students at Hobbton High School are not allowed to wear items with flags, from any country, including the United States. The new rule stems from a controversy over students wearing shirts bearing flags of other countries.”

Chico is the town the late Herb Caen made famous as the place where Velveeta was in the gourmet food section of the grocery store.

It doesn't surprise me that you'd find Marxism rampant in a town named for one of the Marx brothers.

Marxism is not rampant in Chico, so there go your theories based on what you saw in the media.

I was just extrapolating from the story about the middle-school teacher, and the fact that Chico State is located there. It’s in a county which voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004.

Correct. Butte County and all of Northern California is extremely conservative. The fact is that you can find stories like this in any city in the U.S. these days. Liberalism is everyone’s problem.

This fool renounced his citizenship, so deport his sorry butt. I doubt that he has been issued a green card to stay and work here.

I became a teacher 25 years ago. I wonder if teachers of public schools are still required to take an oath, saying they would not undermined the constitution.

If they do, they can sack this guy for his comments.
