Fred Thompson's blind support
SmallGovTimes.com ^ | September 16th, 2007 | Steve Adcock, SmallGovTimes.com

Fred Thompson must be the luckiest guy in American politics – he doesn't yet have a platform available on his web site, skips debates, waits for months before announcing under the assumed role of “testing the waters”, records videos on his web site and somehow manages to bring in impressive support from the American people.

I don’t trust the Council on Foreign Relations.

I don't understand then why you support Mitt. Not only is he a CFR member, but he used to be in a leadership position at the CFR.

JFK waited until January.

Why do people keep bringing this total irrelevancy up? That was nearly 50 freeking years ago. the political machines of 1960 have NOTHING to do with how campaigns are today. LBJ announced the week before JFK's convention, and still kept Kennedy from going into the convention with a majority.

"Blind" support?? Give me a break.

Even Stevie Wonder could see that Fred is a conservative and Rudy is a liberal. Enough said.

"I would be just has happy to see Hunter as SEC of DEF."

Hunter would be more useful as a SECDEF than a VP.

Well, still you didn't answer my question. Probably because you know you're "rule" that Fred's 86% conservative rating makes him a "true conservative" can't be applied to anyone else except Fred. And that's the problem with the Fredheads, they create one set of rules for Fred and another set for everyone else.

They act like it's the most horrible thing on the planet and pure treason when OTHER Senators vote for McCain-Feingold or amnesty, and insist it's the most important issue ever so it doesn't matter if so-and-so agrees with us on the other 90% of the issues, but when they find out Fred supports it, their "outrage" disappears and they simply don't care. I'm not a fan of McCain-Feingold either but if I sounded the alarm as much as them and considered it "treason", I certainly wouldn't vote for ANYONE who helped pass it in law.

Their selective and faux "outrage" is laughable. Either it's treasonous or not. It's not treason when candidate A votes for a bill but acceptable for candidate B to vote that way on the SAME bill. They're almost as bad as the liberals who foam at the mouth about "anti-war" but had no quasms about Clinton bombing whoever he wanted.

Like I said, people have knocked my rule of the thumb and asked if my "Governors win and Senators lose" rhetoric applies only to Republicans. Nope. It always true. Hillary and Obama are poor candidates. The Dems have a much better chance of winning with Richardson or Edwards than with a sitting Senator. I don't apply double-standards.

Obviously, not EVERY Fredhead is a loudmouth, hypocritical attack-dog, and in all fairness, I haven't seen any nasty attacks from you. But the vast majority I've meet on FR are. If I had to estimate, I'd say rougly 60-70% of Fred's euthestiastic supporters here.

I've talked to some "conservative" Fredheads who would actually support a RAT over Lindsey Graham if he gets the nomination (talk about cutting off your nose to spit on your face... can't see what they'd possibly accomplish by having a pro-abortion surrender monkey "representing" South Carolina for six years), but I won't stoop to their level. Fred does agree with me over 80% of the time, and if he wins the nomination (personally I think Romney will win the nomination, though I lean Huckabee at this point), I will support Fred over a RAT.

But as for the primary, anyone who believes "Do as we say, not as Fred does" can get bent.

And yes, I would enjoy watching them b---- and moan if Fred signs an amnesty bill into law. I tried to talk sense into the Mel Martinez fan club here back in 2004, and they simularly responded with insults and mocking when anyone questioned if Mel was really the "secure the borders, anti-amnesty" candidate he proclaimed to be on the campaign trail. Many of those idiots who took Mel at his work and trashed Bill McCollum are now on the Fred bandwagon and trashing Duncan Hunter. Like Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown, they never learn to pay attention to what a candidate DOES rather than what they SAY to get elected.

And they blindly support these people, they deserve to get "betrayed" until they wise up.

Now come on, I have seen your home page, I know you are a closet Fredhead...

I think it should have been left up, even Fred would have liked it.
