Mosul, Iraq An Iraqi Army patrols vigilance thwarted a suicide bomber in Mosul Saturday, causing him to prematurely detonate his suicide vest. The Soldiers from 2nd Brigade, 2nd Iraqi Army Division noticed the individual suspiciously approaching their position. They began shouting at the suspect and fired warning shots. The suicide bomber immediately detonated his vest. There were no injuries to civilians or ISF. In a different operation, acting on a tip from a local Iraqi citizen, Iraqi Army Soldiers and Coalition Forces raided the residence of a suspected improvised explosive device facilitator in the northern Iraq city of Aitha, Sept. 12. Though the target suspect was not at home, the soldiers from 3rd Brigade, 2nd Iraqi Army Division discovered a weapons cache containing 50 lbs. of assorted homemade explosive and artillery propellant, 20 hand grenades, one assault rifle, one machine gun and assorted IED-making materials. Iraqi Security Forces confiscated additional weapons and explosives and seized three fully-loaded black market fuel trucks found at the site. The ISF are truly leading the way and taking the fight to the enemy here in Nineveh, said Col. Stephen Twitty, commander of the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. They are continuously reacting to intelligence and executing strikes that have resulted in the capture of a large number of suspected enemy fighters and the removal of large amounts of IED-making materials and supplies from the province. In the past 10 days, ISF and CF have killed eight enemy fighters, captured over 200 suspected enemy fighters, and seized numerous caches of small arms, ammunition, explosives, and IED-making materials in support of Operation Lightning Hammer II, a joint ISF and Coalition effort.
It's so good that Reid and Pelosi are so wrong.
It’s not nice to change the headline.
That's the bummer about being a suicide bomber. No mulligans.
Or should that be mullahgins.
I was feeling a little enthusiastic at the moment, my apology to all for any contention.
Premature detonation.....
Hmm, sounds like a personal problem.
If a surrender monkey reads in the woods, you can bet it still moves its lips!
< sarcasm = OFF >
The ISF are truly leading the way and taking the fight to the enemy here in Nineveh,
And we can use allies like that.
“Its not nice to change the headline.”
What is “not nice” is for the MSM to ignore the accomplishments of our military. I think the Son House headline is right on the mark.
Good. one idiot dead and several civilians and policemen saved and even more dead-set on helping the counter-insurgency and getting rid of the al-qaeda wackos who keep killing them.
Thank you for making a good point. I do follow what our Military is doing on the ground everyday, and it’s not just “Bush’s War” to be loathed, as Reid and Pelosi express to every microphone or camera lens.
Isn’t this a variant of the movie : Close Encounters? Where the kid’s monkey begins the show at the house...
That’s because the American forces were unable to thwart the bomber, according to Upchuck Schumer.
Thanks for all you are doing.
Hopefully Pelosi is still Reiding this, I’ll put them ahead of the Democrat Majority Press this Morning;

7 Terrorists Killed, 31 Suspects Detained in Coalition Operations
Coalition forces continued operations to secure Baghdad and the surrounding belts during two operations targeting terrorist networks in and around the city. West of Yusufiyah, Coalition forces raided a group of buildings while targeting al-Qaeda in Iraq leaders who organize foreign terrorists to conduct suicide attacks. When the assault force approached the target building, two men in the yard drew weapons. Coalition forces, responding in self-defense, engaged the two armed men, killing them. A number of men from inside the buildings were maneuvering into tactical positions in the surrounding area, indicating they had advance warning of the raid. When the assault force followed the men, they encountered four individuals acting as lookouts and passing information to other enemy elements. Coalition forces defended against the hostile threat by calling for close air support, engaging and killing the four terrorists. The assault force engaged and killed another man who refused to comply with Coalition forces instructions to surrender. The ground forces detained 19 suspected terrorists during the raid.
North of Taji, Coalition forces detained two suspected terrorists while targeting members of the al-Qaeda in Iraq network operating in the Rusafa neighborhood of Baghdad.
Farther north in the Tigris River Valley, Coalition forces conducted two raids targeting al-Qaeda in Iraq leaders who facilitate the movement of foreign terrorists. Near Balad, the ground forces detained two individuals allegedly tied to an al-Qaeda in Iraq group responsible for moving terrorists in and out of Iraq, as well as sniper and bombing attacks on Coalition and Iraqi forces. In Bayji, Coalition forces used information from an operation Sep. 7 to conduct a raid that netted four suspects believed to move weapons, supplies and foreign terrorists for al-Qaeda in Iraq.
Coalition forces near the Syrian border used information from an operation Sep. 11 to target a foreign terrorist facilitator there and detained four suspected terrorists.
Were relentless in our operations to disrupt al-Qaeda in Iraqs ability to terrorize the people of Iraq, said Maj. Winfield Danielson, MNF-I spokesman. We will continue to target terrorists and reinforce the positive steps Iraqis have taken in securing their country.
