WOW....whod have thought that Fred would waste his time participating in such a worthless dog and pony show with the also-rans and wannabes when these debates are nothing but 40 second sound bites that mean zilch. They really don't mean much, but for some reason, a significant chunk of the voting public seems to think that playing sound-bite "gotcha" with an adversarial "moderator" is a requirement to run a campaign. So be it. As the man says:
"Debates are important, but let's don't let the tail wag the dog here. Standing up there 10 in a row, you know, like a bunch of seals waiting for someone to throw you the next fish is not necessarily the best way to impart your information to the American people," Thompson said. "I'm not above acting like a seal every once in a while and waiting for the next fish. I just don't want to do it all the time."

May I suggest Larry Kudlow as moderator? He is about the best CNBC has got!
To: Kimberly GG
FDT did say he'd participate in those types of debates when he announced on Leno. He just said he didn't think they were terribly helpful.
I dunno, he might have a point--nine people on stage at once, clamoring for attention.
To: Doofer
Can’t be true. The other candidate bots all say Fred avoids debates.

In Dearborn, MI, “Little Arabia of America” where they celebrated in the streets on 9/11/01.
Great choice guys.
Has anyone heard anything about last night’s “VALUES DEBATE”? I’ve seen or heard nothing. Only about 5 of the candidates accepted the invite to participate; Alan Keyes was supposed to be one.
CAN SOMEBODY GIVE US AN UPDATE?

Mr. Reguate Poltical Speech better have some good things to say. The more I hear him explain CFR the less I feel like voting for him.

Values Voter update.
Nine candidates showed up, not much was said we hadn't heard. Keyes is still a fine preacher, Paul is still certifiable.

I’m sure f4p will get plenty of pictures. And I am a hospitable FReeper, so even if you couldn’t make it this time, consider yourself always on the invite list! ;o)

LOL! I expected a “Mitt could debate himself” joke in response. Who will post the cartoon?
To: Doofer
Thompson has accepted three debates for October. They are as follows:
- Oct. 9th .. Dearborn, Mich., CNBC/MSNBC/Wall Street Journal
- Oct. 14th .. Manchester, N.H., (WMUR-ABC)
- Oct. 21st .. Orlando, Fla. (Fox News)
Ten on stage or more if they don't use some type polling criteria for participation..... Won't be much more than a strut affair if they are all allowed.
