McNabb speaks out. (He sounds more like Rush everyday)

Philadelphia Eagles star Donovan McNabb says black quarterbacks face greater scrutiny than their white counterparts. In an interview on HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel", McNabb said black quarterbacks "have to do a little bit extra" because there are relatively few of them.

What was it Rush said? That McNabb is treated differently in the Press because they want a "Black" QB to be successful. NcNabb says he is treated differently in the Press because he is "Black". Rush gets fired, McNabb is treated as a victim. I think I have to side with Rush and I have evidence to PROVE it..............Kordell Stewart. Both are/were overrated and over-hyped. Any thoughts?

Maybe McNabb could wear a dress so he doesn’t get hurt.

Oh, what a crybaby!

If he makes racial remarks he knows that they’ll get repeated. He should just shut up and play!

Rush and McNabb basically said the opposite thing. Rush stated the media was overrating McNabb because he was black. McNabb believes fans are tougher on black QBs.

McNabb is wrong, though. There wasn't a more overhyped and overrated QB in the league than Michael Vick.

McNabb was using it as an excuse for what people are saying. Philly doesn’t care what color you are as a QB... they just want performance.

Fans and the press did not say anything about him cause he is black but because he has not produced and as Barkley said last night, in Philly if you can not do it, it is time to go.

Charles Barkley of course is black. So if even he was saying it maybe it is time for McNabb to go, maybe it is. The Eagles should never have let Garcia leave until McNabb was tested.

McNabb may be a good QB (when healthy) but he is obviously still not mentally or physically ready to play on the level the NFL requires.

Bye, Bye Donovan.

Try Eli Manning. Poor white boy! He could get away with his playing.....if only he was black!

Philadelphia Eagles star Donovan McNabb says black quarterbacks face greater scrutiny than their white counterparts.

Sorry, I don't buy it. Every NFL starting QB undergoes enormous scrutiny. They all get too much credit for wins, too much blame for losses. Until last season Peyton Manning was regarded as a post-season choke artist, drawing more criticism than McNabb despite being a better QB. Meanwhile his brother draws criticism for not being as good as Peyton. Terry Bradshaw was regarded as a hill-billy fool until his first SB win. Bart Starr won championship after championship, but was criticized for not being Johnny Unitas. Fans, columnists and even coaches pushed for Steve Young to replace Joe Montana and his 4 SB rings. From the day it happened to the day Young's career ended, they faulted Young for not being as great as Montana.

It's not the skin color, Donovan. It's the position.

As I noted when this was posted earlier today, McNabb got himself pretty well beat by a non-whining black quarterback Monday night.

To paraphrase Laura Ingraham, Shut Up and Play!

Don’t forget Dan Marino, who’s a “loser” despite one of the best statistical NFL careers ever.

Agree QB’s get too much credit/criticism in general. Add to it that Philadelphia has one of the most critical fan bases in the world.

McNabb was good for quite a few years but what a baby, but what do you expect from a Bryant Gumball show.

Charlie Frye started the opening game and was benched, then traded the next day.

Matt Hasslebeck was brought into Seattle and was booed off the field for Dilfer.

Troy Aikman was booed off stage at the Southern Junction, a dance hall just east of Dallas, after his first season.

Jeff Garcia, McNabbs backup, was injured after a hard hit and the Philly fans cheered because they wanted Feely to play.

I guess white players can't use the racist crutch and its to their advantage. When people think they stink they can either try harder or quit. Blacks can tell themselves its not their performance but their skin color. I also know for a fact that blacks think they are just better athletes than whites so if a white guy is getting the start its not because they are better, thats not possible, but because race plays a factor.

When T.O. mentioned Farve as being a qb he would rather play with than McNabb, much of the black sports media was saying it was black on black crime.

Michael Irvin, who I actually like, said Tony Romos ancestor, presumable a great great grandmother, must have been sneaking down to the barn to bang a black slave in order for Romo to be so athletic. He finished out his stint on ESPN of course and the story had little fanfare. I also don't think Tom Jackson cried over the remark or Steve Youngs son asked him "Daddy, can I be a great athlete because I am white?"

I like McNabb - and he was a great quarterback for Syracuse and has been a great quarterback for the Eagles.

He is also, by all the people who I have talked to, a decent human being.

That said, he remarks are driven by his fear and self doubt now that he is washed up.

His performance throughout the pre-season and now back to back losses has been abysmal.

He is obviously not physically ready to play. He is limping out there, and the Washington QB (Jason Campbell) showed him how it "was done" out there by running out of the pocket for 10, 18, 21 yards. That used to be the way McNabb played.

The Eagles let Jeff Garcia go, and he came off the bench and brought them to the playoffs and the division.

This might be it for McNabb.

Brent Favre is a lot older, and still playing. McNabb is only 30, but he is playing horribly this year. We will have to see.
