Tropical Depression 10

A couple of low pressure systems have been circulating in and around Florida--drifting westward. Forecast models indicate the systems will move into the Gulf of Mexico. There is potential for development of this large area of disturbed weather. Sea surface temperatures for the Eastern GOM are in the mid to upper 80's.
NHC Tropical Weather Outlook Statement as of 10:30 PM EDT on September 19, 2007:
Surface observations indicate that a low pressure system associated
with the large area of disturbed weather is moving slowly westward
across north central Florida. However...satellite images indicate
that the shower activity remains disorganized. Surface pressures
are still falling sharply and the environment is gradually becoming
favorable for a subtropical or tropical cyclone to form...as the
system moves westward into the eastern Gulf of Mexico on Thursday.
Showers and squalls associated with this system are expected to
spread over portions of Florida during the next day or two. All
interest along the northern Gulf of Mexico coast should monitor the
progress of this weather disturbance.

Thanks NN, Sometimes these local home grown storms can be the most unpredictable, sort of like Humberto.

The storms this season have tended to explode. GOM temp due west of Tampa Bay is 85.5º. Thought it would be prudent to alert FRiends in neighborhood.

10 inches of rain in JacksonvilleYikes...
I spent the afternoon fertilizing the yard, citrus trees and rose beds ahead of the rain. Circular cloud formation was visible to the east much of the day.

I was watching the circulation out my front window today. It is a remarkably large area of circulation.

If all of that comes together it could be a big storm.
