Three weeks ago, I wrote about the FBI's unwitting revelation of a potential smoking gun in the TWA Flight 800 case.

I refer specifically to an amateur video shot five days before the plane's demise. The video captured an image, concedes the FBI, "consistent with the exhaust plume from a MANPAD [Man-portable air-defense] missile."

I argued that the suppression of this video for 11 years strengthens the case that other imagery – in particular an amateur video shot on the night of the crash, July 17, 1996 – might also have been suppressed.

This argument elicited some provocative responses from some very good sources. Let me cite a few. The first one comes from Atlanta, Ga.

Ahhh, TWA Flight 800. I’ll tell you this. A few years ago,I ordered a copy of the the brief Press Conference Billy Jeff Clintoon held shortly after this occurred. He was shaken to his core as a human being in regards to this incident. If you haven’t watched it or ever seen it, it’s only about 9-12 minutes long, it is fascinating to see this (sorry excuse for a) man looking so totally ill at ease and disturbed in front of the camera. It’s a classic and historical brief piece of film. They’ll surely never include this brief press conference at his Presidential Library, I’ll assure you of that.

Over 20 people reported seeing something like a surface to air missile. Remember similar incidents on the west coast. I believe an Alaskan and Hawaiian Airlines flights that went down over water in similar circumstances.

I doubt a shoulder launched missile would of brought down, in that fashion a 747. First the range would of been extreme, especially for a Soviet, but even American missile. Second, it would of tracked on the exhaust plume of one of the four engines. If it managed to hit the engine, losing the engine woud not of immediately brought the plane down. There is a fair chance the aircraft could of returned with a engine gone. Happens all the time. Anyways, there would of been radio communication, and cockpit voice of the pilots dealing with an engine failure. How long have video cameras been in existence? Do you think if some Islamic idiots did this they would not of filmed and claimed credit?

Being from Kansas City and knowing of Jack over the years is the one thing that has kept my mind open to the allegations of Federal manipulation. I have to ask myself, if Jack has been on this track hw can I ignore it?

There’s no way to prove it, but I think that this was not a fuel tank explosion, that it was a mistake by the military under Clinton, that he ordered the FBI to cover it up, and Bush came into office with the promise to continue the coverup.
I hope we find out the truth one day.

The only conspiracy I believe in here is the one our own federal government perpetrated on the American people as to the cause of this crash.

736 eye witnesses saw a bright flash rising UP and hit the plane (a missile). The CIA tried to convince us that the bright light was debris floating DOWN from the plan contrary to all of the witnesses.

I knew that plane was taken down by a missile, I always believed that to be the case. The thing is if the terrorists did it and got away with it why did they stop?
