So “Fat” is now considered a race? Huh? Or were the authors saying it’s OK for minority women to be fat? I’m confused.

I don’t think it has as much to do with race as it does with culture.

White, American males seem to be entranced by the female body as pre-pubescent scrawny with large (enhanced) breasts. Not all but most. Witness most of the actresses, models and most Googled women.

Whereas men in other cultures love mature women, who have a bit of sag and extra flesh. Reubenesque, if you will. In many cultures and historically, a ‘fleshed out’ woman was a sign that the man was well off. He could afford to feed his family more than just enough to sustain life. He was rich if he had a plump wife. Have you ever seen the musical ‘Fiddler On The Roof’? In the song ‘If I Were A Rich Man’ there is a line that goes ‘I’d have my wife, my Golde, looking like a rich man’s wife, with a proper double chin’...

Most black men I know..and I know a lot, like their women to have a lot of curves. Black people, along with other ethinicities, have never regarded large women as gross or lazy, the things many white Americans do. Instead, they look at it as a ‘real woman’. Listen to the song ‘Baby Got Back’. He’s really putting white men down for not liking that booty.
