Robert Novak: Hillary's micromanaging blamed in Hsu mess

Democrats are amazed that Sen. Clinton did not thoroughly investigate Hsu before accepting funds

WASHINGTON Democratic insiders blame Sen. Hillary Clinton's micromanaging for her presidential campaign's acceptance of nearly $900,000 in contributions donated or raised by Norman Hsu, convicted for fraud and a former fugitive.

The Clinton campaign has insinuated that her financial aides dropped the ball in failing to vet Hsu before taking his money. But the senator is obsessive in running her own campaign, taking responsibility for details.

Hsu for many years has been well-known in New York Democratic circles, appearing at events with $5,000 to $20,000 in contributions. Recipients were ignorant of his criminal background. Nevertheless, considering Clinton administration scandals about dirty money from Asian businessmen, Democrats are amazed that Sen. Clinton did not thoroughly investigate Hsu before accepting funds.

Hi! I’m Robert Novak,...and right about now you’re wondering why I haven’t been placed in an Old Folks Home for the Mentally Incompetent. But no, I’m just going to keep on writing these ridiculous columns until they come for me!

She couldn't do that, that would be profiling.

Recipients were ignorant of his criminal background.

Correction: Recipients were allegedly ignorant of his criminal background.

And this little gem right below it:

WAITING FOR HER SHOT
Sen. Hillary Clinton waited five hours, behind three other Democratic presidential candidates, to hear testimony Tuesday from Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker because of a calculated political decision by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Sen. Joseph Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, refused the joint hearings with the Armed Services Committee held by their House counterparts. Reid ordered that Foreign Relations would go first because its Republican members were not nearly as strong for President Bush on Iraq as GOP members of Armed Services, headed by Sen. John McCain. Of the top two Republicans on Foreign Relations, Sen. Richard Lugar has distanced himself from Bush policy and Sen. Chuck Hagel opposes it.
Clinton, as an Armed Services member, had to wait until late afternoon. Her principal rival for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Barack Obama, is a Foreign Relations member, as are presidential hopefuls Biden and Sen. Christopher Dodd.

Ohhh, the humanity of it all!

It’s the nature of greedy criminals to want to micromanage everything, for obvious reasons. No surprise here.

That said, it’s also the nature of greedy criminals to not want to take the blame for any of their greed or criminal activity. Hildabeast staff better watch their backs and stay out of National Parks.

Gee, it’s always the staff’s fault!!!

Hillary can’t — or won’t — take responsibility for anything.

Well, if it’s got her name on it, she ought to pay more attention. Her accusations require a willingness to intentionally suspend disbelief.

There, how’s that?

Hillary probably said something like:

“I don’t give a f*** if he’s Tony f***ing Soprano. If the
f***ing Chink wants to donate 900,000 dollars, just take the f***ing money and shut the f*** up.”

This just in ......

News Flash ... News Flash ... News Flash

Normal regular person Mr_Moonlight was forced to wait on line for three hours yesterday at the Department of Motor Vehicle Office in order to renew the registration sticker on his Ford Explorer SUV. The vehicle registration date was running out fast as Mr Moonlight sweated profusely as he waited on the long line to get his renewal payment check to the DMV clerk on time before his vehicles registration ran out.

Moonlight need not to have worried so much, as crack bureaucratic reporter Robert Novak pointed out, "This guy was in such a rush to pay his money to The State that he didn't realize his registration still had two weeks left on it before it expired"

DMV clerk, Susan Capone, was interviewed by Novak right after the Moonlight incident: "I just figured he was just a regular guy looking to renew a vehicle registration, didn't think much of it ... I took his check and printed out the registration, no big deal"

Calls from this newspaper to Mr Moonlight for a comment on the incident went unanswered.
