The FBI is reviewing a white supremacist Web site that purports to list the addresses of five of the six black teenagers accused of beating a white student in the small town of Jena and "essentially called for their lynching," an agency spokeswoman said.
Sheila Thorne, an agent in the FBI's New Orleans office, said Saturday that authorities were reviewing whether the site breaks any federal laws. She said the FBI had "gathered intelligence on the matter," but declined to further explain how the agency got involved.

Last I heard six guys beating up one guy was a mob bent on violence and should be punished accordingly.

Even sarcasm like that is perceived as hate thought not yet speech.
I propose they be tried for attempted murder, assualt and battery and jailed accordingly.
The white boy they attacked had nothing to do with the nooses or tree, he happened to be walking with his girlfriend. Hate crime??? The young men who did put the nooses up were all suspended for three days and have since left the school.
One of the attackers, a young gentleman from a local neighborhood already had five....5...... charges on his record for violent assaults.
So apparently, the white boy with his girlfriend in tow saw a group of 6 well behaving, minding their own business in the library young black men and made the decision, “That’s the group I want to fight” and if you believe the civil rights whores, went after them. After all, one white boy with his girl is equal to six black thugs in the hood. Good odds, right?
In an age of PC, there will be a white response somewhere, and when you try to eliminate any reasoned, coherent response, websites like this will step into the void. Expect 50,000 black folks in Jena next week to demand the internet be shut down.
So many things wrong here. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
If a website is calling for the lynching of these kids, then that is absolutely wrong. I’m pretty sure that would violate some law and therefore can and should be prosecuted.
I am concerned, however, with the phrase “essentially called for their lynching.” Did it or didn’t it? More information is needed.
I’d like to see consistent standards applied to all cases. If the reader gets to extrapolate and draw negative conclusions from this website, then do we get to extrapolate and draw negative conclusions from all websites? In particular, what about the numerous websites that “essentially call for the murder of the President,” “essentially call for the murder of left/right wing people,” etc. On many topics, there have been objectionable posts here (though they are quickly removed by the moderators). On sites like DU, there are frequently totally objectionable posts inciting to violence.
Then there are the cagey wordings like “What if so-and-so was murdered?” Does that get the writer off the hook? I can’t help but think of Clinton speculating about the meaning of the word “is.”
Again, I’d like to see consistent standards applied.

Don’t you think jail time might be more appropriate. Your post gives the entire site a black eye (sarcasm aside).
Liberal diversity and politically correct thought is fueling the growth of these groups. Many young people I know are becoming more and more racist because of what they are experiencing.
I see the next decade as a period of great threat to America’s fabric by a balkanizing effect.
Unfortunately, this is really what the liberals want, they feel as long as their are special interest groups longing fr their own piece of the pie power will stay in the libs hands.
Pretty harsh for cuts and bruises and an hour or two spent in an emergency room, don't you think? But where do you pull in the posse? A couple of days before a white guy had pulled a shotgun on three of the black kids. Would you suggest he be in the dock with them on attempted murder charges? And the day before they attacked the white kid, one of the black guys had been beaten up at a party. Should the police be beating the bushes for the white kids at the party that thumped his ass and charging them with attempted murder as well? It'd be nice it it were all as cut and dried as you and Sharpton and Jackson think it is, but apparently this whole situation was months in the making and there is certainly enough provocation created by both sides.
Ten thousand black people can march in the streets and basically say it’s ok for six black punks to beat the hell out of a white kid.

Anything that destroys America is good for liberals, meaning the hard core leftists who populate Congress, the media, academia and Hollywood.
You fail to realize all of these incidents area result of our not administering the law. If someone pulls a guy, you investigate and act accordingly. If a fight at a party happens you investigate and act accordingly.
I believe this whole incident should be investigated properly and appropriate justice be administered.
Six people attacking one is mob mentality and should be harshly dealt with.

I try to be well read, but have seen nothing of the charges you present. Please provide links or websites to the shotgun and party beating episodes so I can broaden my knowledge.
