Sorry I misspelled your name, Zoomie. By the way, are you a camera fan?
Durn tootin, Mr. President!!
Oh, don’t we all wish!!
Jonny what would you like on your toaster
If you're a family of four making $60,000 a year, your taxes would be more than $1,800 higher.
If you're a single mother with two children, working to make ends meet, your taxes would go up by more than a $1,000.
If you're a small business owner working to meet a payroll, your taxes would increase by almost $4,000.
And if Congress allows our tax relief to expire, more than 5 million low-income Americans who currently pay no income taxes would once again have to pay taxes.
And the Dims say they're for the 'little man.' Hogwash! Why, in the name of all that's sensible, do people keep voting Dim???
As slow as my computer is tonight a 30 minute rule wouldn’t help me.
Laura is so stunning in that dress. Wonder if she’d loan me that necklace? It’s gorgeous.
For me tis my typing speed that is the slow part.
LOL!
I have only gotten in in time for 6 Toasters & over half were on slower Site traffic days ie Holidays.
:)
But I’ll take ‘em any day I get ‘em!
Yes,that gown is stunning! Didn’t get a good enough look at the necklace but as You say, I’m sure tis equally as gorgeous as the dress.
Hey you two ADORABLE & great NEW Dose posters..
thank you. Starwise.. this was a great first edition .. Daisy.. you work at the Finest in past times was always wonderful. I know you will do great.. and hey, maybe some things in fancy/schmacy tables to boot!
I think the necklace is amber.. and with that amount QUITE pricey.
The dress looks more like Oscar to me than CH.
I did not see the Jenna interview but she is a gutsy gal & I am sure held her own against intimidation that the press is sly in producing
Hi Kitkat!
Oh you're probably right. Sure would be fun though. Course if they did have it there the Dims would probably say it was just done for political reasons anyway.
Starwise, thank you for posting the President’s radio address...great points that people need to be reminded about. I will share with my Women’s Club. Thanks, too, for the BEAUTIFUL pics of Laura.
I watched the 20/20 special and Jenna was terrific!! She is so well spoken and confident. And, her love for her parents shines through! She let Diane Sawyer know she would answer ONLY what she wanted to...good for Jenna!
jonny, your drawing of the President is just wonderful!!
Thank you for sharing this with us.
shield, your pic of ‘sock it to President Tom (Glenn Beck’s name for ahmanutjob) made me laugh out loud!
Thanks!
‘...the daily thread is a must read before I close my eyes in sleep.’
same here. I so much appreciate those who work so hard to bring us this wonderful thread each day.
.....and, it’s very hard to think about the time when he will no longer be President. He is such a good, courageous man. May God continue to bless and protect him.
Jenna Bush looked poised as she stepped to the podium, but she couldn't quite hide the butterflies as she stood before an eager bookstore crowd Saturday to introduce her new book, "Ana's Story: A Journey of Hope."
"This is my first day, so I'm a little nervous," the 25-year-old first daughter admitted.
Her face lit up, though, as soon as she started talking about the subject of her nonfiction narrative a teenage mother with HIV whom she met during an internship with UNICEF in Latin America.
"Ana changed my life. She's only 17 years old, but she's lived the life of somebody so much older," Bush said. "Despite her hardships, Ana is so much like the teenagers here in the United States. She reminds me of myself at that age."
Bush, who embarks this weekend on a two-month national book tour, appears far different than the college student America knew during her father's early years in the White House. The young woman who was famously cited for underage drinking and once photographed sticking her tongue out is gone replaced with an author who is passionate about her writing project.
*snip*
Another part of that maturation: getting engaged in August to her longtime boyfriend, Henry Hager. Bush wore a sparkling diamond-and-sapphire engagement ring but said wedding plans are on hold during the book tour.
"Hopefully in January we can sit down and talk about it," she said about the wedding. Asked if she might be married at the White House, the first daughter said, "Right now, anything's possible."
((She's so adorable and poised .. ;)

SINGING HIS PRAISES Former President George H.W. Bush passes on accolades to musician/activist Bono at the National Constitution Center's 2007 Liberty Medal ceremony Thursday in Philadelphia. The singer and his advocacy organization D.A.T.A. received this year's prize in recognition of their AIDS awareness work in Africa.
OK DU...I get it, I have encountered a few on FR.
LOL, I am a camera fan but my posting name is a nick name I was given when I was in the Air Force.
I would like Starwise's photo of Jenna on my toaster :)
