WASHINGTON Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh stepped up his criticism of Democratic lawmakers Tuesday, saying efforts by Democrats in Congress to target him are merely diversions meant to distract supporters from their failed efforts to get out of Iraq.
In an attack that began with the first words of the show and continued throughout his daily three-hour broadcast Tuesday, Limbaugh compared Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, claimed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is using a liberal media watchdog to suppress her opposition and said he feels sorry for Sen. Tom Harkin's family for having to be associated with the Iowa Democrat's statements on the Senate floor a day earlier.
He then said the attacks aren't really about him personally.
"It's about them and they are desperately trying to salvage themselves with their own lunatic fringe base who they are not only disappointing but they are deceiving because the dirty, little secret, as I also predicted, was that if the Democrats win the White House in '08 they are not pulling out of Iraq. All the top tier Democrats have said so," Limbaugh told his audience.

Give ‘em hell, Rush.
Rush is smart to keep the focus on what the Rats are trying to distract everyone from. Another Rat attack backfires!
Hey, Harry Reid, “all [you] have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.” And it couldn’t please me more!
God Bless Rush and our military.
To hell with the Stalinists in our media and government.
And republicans in D.C.? Look to your superior here. This is a man who has principles and isn’t afraid to take on these low lifes. You might learn something from him.
Yep, he was DEFINITELY kicking butts and taking names today. Rush, when you’re hot, you’re HOT!!
givit toooo em Rushi
This rant is going to haunt the Dems for Halloween IF just a few Repubs stand up. Buehler? Buehler?
The Dems are getting clumsier by the day. Rush now has an issue on which he can credibly state that the Dems are lying through their teeth, and it can be linked to Moveon.org and all the other ploys that didn’t work out that the Dems would rather forget about; in fact, that this smear was designed to make other people forget about. Rather than establish a phony moral equivalency this simply keeps that other stuff in the public eye. Bad move for them.
Unlike our spineless republican reps and inadequate candidates for prez, Rush fights back
Rush pw3ned the dems today, it was great. What really gets me is they only make Rush stronger with these idiotic smears on him, and this one was the most idiotic.
Good thing for us Leftists are stupid, irrational, and without discipline.
Rush will miss a real opportunity if he doesn’t buy a full page ad in the NYT, publicly negotiating the rate, and then call out Reid et al. to their faces.
He has pointed out that the elite left does not listen to his show, they only get selected content filtered through Media Matters.
Publicly answering them in the NYT will really be an opportunity to further humiliate them.
It would be great theater, and help the cause immensely.
God bless you Rush.
The HEAD of Media Matters is who.....DAVID BROCK....who brought us the INFAMOUS story called TROOPERGATE.....Clinton SNEAKING out of the Gov’s mansion to have TRYSTS and have the Troopers tell them when Hillary is on the way home. Sooooooo, why is Hillary ALIGNED with someone who almost DESTROYED her pathetic husband......hmmmmm....
Didn't Brock write "The REAL Anita Hill" back before he had his conversion on the road to Damascus?
President Bush?
HA!
HOUSE RESOLUTION SUPPORTING LIMBAUGH
Mon Oct 01 2007 15:16:57 ET
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OCTOBER 1, 2007
Mr. KINGSTON submitted the following resolution
Honoring all Americans serving in the Armed Forces of the United States and commending broadcaster Rush Limbaugh for his relentless efforts to build and maintain troop morale through worldwide radio broadcasts and personal visits to conflict regions.
Whereas the need to show support for American troops serving and fighting both here and abroad during a time of global conflict has never been greater, with the need to communicate an uplifting message of encouragement to American soldiers eternally important, in addition to the morale-boosting value of personal visits to combat region by highly-regarded individuals;
Whereas every American, to include service men and women and broadcasters, is entitled to free speech and the free exchange of ideas; Whereas daily radio broadcasts reaching tens of millions of civilians and soldiers both in America and abroad by way of the Armed Forces Radio Network are conducted five days a week by Rush Hudson Limbaugh III;
Whereas Mr. Limbaugh has consistently used his broadcast time to praise American troops and support them during their ongoing efforts to secure peace in a troubled world;
Whereas Mr. Limbaugh has met with troops in Afghanistan; raised and donated millions of dollars to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, which provides college scholarships to the children of Marines and veterans of other branches killed in action; features an Adopt a Soldier program which provides them with free subscription access to his online program features; and Whereas Mr. Limbaughs commitment to American troops serving both here and abroad remains as strong as ever: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the House of Representatives, Section 1. The House of Representatives makes the following findings:
(1) Americans serving in the United States Armed Forces have volunteered for such service and have not been drafted for that purpose.
(2) Those who serve in the Armed Forces deserve the respect of all Americans for their willingness to undertake that service
(3) Those who serve in the Armed Forces do not relinquish their constitutional right to express their opinions regarding public policy in a manner consistent with good order and discipline.
Sec. 2. House of Representatives
(1) recognizes the service of all members of the Armed Forces serving in good standing and with honor to defend the United States, and the personal sacrifices made by them and their families;
(2) commits to judge the merits of the opinions of members of the Armed Forces regarding the policies of the United States, including those related to military actions in Iraq, without prejudice or personal bias;
(3) commends Mr. Limbaughs desire to see American troops achieve a successful outcome in Iraq, Afghanistan and wherever soldiers are stationed and his tireless public support for American troops and their families through radio broadcasts, fundraising and other public support;
(4) honors all members of the Armed Forces and civilian personnel serving in harms way, as well as their families; and
(5) pledges to debate any supplemental funding request or any policy decisions regarding the war in Iraq with the solemn respect and the commitment to integrity that the sacrifices of these members of the Armed Forces and civilian personnel deserve.
END
Show all the media cowards and Repub cowards how it's done... EDUCATE 'EM ALL... THE LONG AND THE SHORT AND THE TALL!!!
Between the House RATS proposing new war taxes and Pelosi then body slamming her own members and the Reid-led Senate RATS picking a fight with RUSH (based on outright lies) they can’t even come close to winning, this has to be one of the most outrageously stupid days in the history of RAT led-Congresses.
They would be better to let a drunk Ted Kennedy and a senile Bobby Byrd get wake up call for setting tomorrow’s agenda.
