Wrong. He never ran as a Conservative. He "discovered" Conservatism minutes before the expiration of his term, amazingly, just when he wanted to run for President after doing precisely nothing as Governor... except to cut and run from his office after promising to revitalize the party and abandoning a hapless Lieutenant to hold an office she had neither the $$ nor the support or qualifications to run for. Following in the footsteps of his ultraliberal disciple, Slick Willie Weld, the worst RINO Governor in the history of Massachusetts.
We’re gonna drive a stake through that RINO vampire’s dark black heart. Ya dig ? Sho ‘nuff.Sounds like a personal vendetta to me.
You have a mighty bizarre definition of “Conservative.” Now if you mean capitulating to the left and abandoning your office to Marxist Democrats to pursue an office you have no qualifications for, then yup, Precious Willard is “Conservative.” A few “Conservatives” like him in DC, and there won’t be a Republican party left by 2016. Of course, that’s the plan all along for trojan horse Democrats like Precious.
~”But one thing, I find great comfort in is that Mitt will be the most conservative President in a generation and yet in the media he will be seen not been owned by the social conservatives. That my friend is a great place to be in politically.”~
I don’t share your certainty as to Romney’s chances just yet; but that is an interesting point.
Truth = Everything you Mittwitts believe is false.
We’ll just keep telling the truth on his liberal and cut & run record of shame. You keep squealing.
This is a good point from the end of this article -Yes, it is a good point. I recall the media doing the same 1999 - 2000, too. They said that Bush wasn't Regan and that he wasn't prolife and that he wouldn't appoint conservative justices, etc. I guess McCain was the "fantasy" candidate then.
Truth = Everything you Mittwitts believe is false.Ah, the truth to you is relative to what you believe others believe.
We’ll just keep telling the truth on his liberal and cut & run record of shame. You keep squealing. My guess is that the squealing you think you hear is tinnitus. ;)
Since you were not an active participant in a prayer thread last night on Meniere’s Disease, I can only surmise that your making fun of a person’s health disability for the purposes of scoring the cheapest of political points demonstrates that you, sir or madam, know absolutely no depths of sleazy lowness in which to sink. You are absolutely beneath my contempt and are a shameful piece of human debris. A quintessential Mittwitt.
Blah blah blah. Mitt Romney is a fine man and not a liar. This issue of Ronald Reagan signing pro choice legislation in California has been discussed fully and is old news. If you want to know how many unborn babies lost their lives because of Reagan’s signature on that legislation, I can find it, but I know it was the biggest regret of his life. I think Romney was trying to commiserate with Reagan on the matter.
That doesn’t match what he said in the video.
“anti-Mitt rapid response team”
All we can hope is that the ordinary fair-minded FReepers can see what’s going on and at least feel bad about it. FreeRepublic used to be a fair place. It’s sad to see what’s happened. Very sad.
Unfortunately, there’s an “anti-Mormon response team” too and no doubt some of the same people hop back and forth between the two groups. I never thought FR would tolerate this kind of thing and I have been posting here since 1998.
I’m getting pretty sick of it but still hanging in there hoping it will improve . . . but it doesn’t look good.
Please check your FReepMails. Love ya!
No, you misread what I wrote. To get elected, he ran as a fiscal conservative, and a social liberal...and within a year of winning the election, he was governing as a fiscal and social conservative. That comes from a self-described liberal Democrat who worked in Cellucci’s campaign.
The Democrats felt that they were duped in ‘02, so they voted for a a dyed-in-the-wool liberal Democrat in 2006.
A quintessential Mittwitt.Well, I have been hearing impaired since birth -- completely deaf in the left ear and profound deafness in the right ear. I wear a hearing aid in the right ear and I suffer tinnitus, severe at times. So, I thought that the squealing that you heard might have been what I hear continuously. I am also visually impaired from juvenile glaucoma at age nine, I have tunnel vision, which means that I'm legally blind. In addition to that I was born without a right arm and a deformed left hand; my mother was prescribed Thalidomide while she was pregnant. I was speaking from personal experience.
Then you of all people should have a bit more sensitivity to attack or belittle others suffering from health problems.
That doesn’t match what he said in the video. In the video I believe he said that he would protect a woman’s right to choose, which was, and still is, the status quo with regards to laws relating to abortion in Massachusetts. He did as he said he would do: maintain the status quo with regards to laws relating to abortion in Massachusetts. That also meant, as he said in his speech at The National Right To Life Convention Forum, June 15, 2007, "But in Massachusetts, that meant vetoing pro-choice legislation – as I consistently did as Governor."
Then you of all people should have a bit more sensitivity to attack or belittle others suffering from health problems.Actually, humor helps. :) But if I hurt your feelings then I apologize, it was not my intent to be insensitive, nor to attack, nor to belittle you in any way.
You’re going to have to clarify your statement. You say that you followed him for 13 years, and that you’re a former supporter. When exactly did you support him? When he said that he’d protect a woman’s right to an abortion? Or when he ran as a friend to gay rights?
You obviously do not support him since he’s been saying that he’s pro-life, and pro-Marriage amendment. So when did you change your opinion of him?
