Stop spending more than they take in. Sounds good to me. But if they do that, they can’t keep the people broke and they will loose control of those same people.
That seems a bit like saying that one can avoid the hangman's noose--if one merely opts for the firing squad instead.
Some choice.
Pretending to let the people decide if they are taxed or not, when in actuallity it is one tax or the other, not no new taxes at all. What’s the difference? Just more smoke and mirrors by the dem communists.
I’ve always said that states should dump their income taxes, property taxes, gas taxes, and user fees and switch to a single sales tax. I wouldn’t mind paying a 10% sales tax on everything if all of the other taxes were abolished.
MI ping?
“tear people down and divide us”
Opposition to mandatory income redistribution is “tear people down and divide us”...
Don’t you just love that??
...Soooooooo.....
would you like the 15” dildo, or the big spikey dildo?

Let’s see- what do the people want- taxes? or... taxes? what is it people? what say you?
How stupid. The people should demand a third option- NO TAXES!
The GR Press had a cover story (a very small one, continued inside) on the 4th, regarding a former rep from Macomb (I think it was) who is trying to get volunteers to help gather 90,000 petitions to get the governor’s recall on the ballot.
The productive people have left this state by the thousands, leaving control of the state to welfare bums, state workers, dumb bureaucrats and crooked politicians.
I see no reason why these socialists wouldn’t vote for a pay raise for themselves.
Why not a 25% sales tax?
If you would like to be added or dropped from the Michigan ping list, please freepmail me.
I took the weekend off of freeping so I could enjoy 2007's last stab at summer.
I hope to God I'm wrong, but I don't see any kind of tax hike getting thumbs up by mitten voters at this point. Then again, Ms Molehern (like it?) was reelected. One never can tell what the future will bring.

Granholm said those who clamor for lower taxes aim at the wrong target. She said there is a deeper issue of shared sacrifice.
“It’s not just about me, me, me. It’s about investing in Michigan,” she said. “Where’s the notion of the common good? It’s been lost over decades because there’s been ... this idea that it’s your money, it’s your money.
“What happened to, ‘It’s your schools, and it’s your roads and it’s your parks, your libraries?’ “
