If only Willard would tell more lies about Ronald Reagan and release more “throw Rush Limbaugh under the bus” messages, maybe then his campaign would take right off away.

But the Mitt and Rudy supporters told me Fred was failing and his bounce was gone. I’m confused...

It’s going to be Fred vs. Hillary. I almost feel sorry for Hillary... almost.

Fred Thompson Within Four Points of Giuliani in AP-Ipsos Poll

..which translated means that FDT is probably ahead by ten points--don't worry about Giuliani--he won't get near the nomination...

This is good news!!! If you listen to the media, however, Fred has already peaked and its all over. Rudy will be the only one who can beat Hitlery!

I don't know about you all, but I'm just a little tired of the media telling me how I should think and feel. The Beltway Boys says its over...aren't you listening?

They all misunderestimated Bush too. Watch closely, something will bust this entire election wide open. Fred has my vote until he and Jeri are in the White House!

My gut feel is Thompson vs Romney, and Thompson wins.

Interesting. The poll has someone that has stated he is not running (Gingrich) but yet doesn't have the candidate that raised 5 times more than Nanny Huckabee, more than McCain, and fourth in fund raising this quarter. A candidate that had over 1500 people show up at a rally in Nashville this very evening. Nashville, isn't that in the Actor's home state? Hmmm.....

I'd also note 17% of those 'polled' (being quite slanted as it is) didn't pick any of the candidates. Course it being slanted in the 'right' fashion makes it a poll Republicans can use to validate the argument doesn't it....

The drive by media are afraid of Fred. They know he is the only Republican who can beat Hillary. Don’t believe what you hear in the media, Fred will win. Remember, most American’s are not even paying attention yet. Let him do a couple of debates and I think Fred will bury Rudy in the polls. The media is pushing Rudy on us because they think we have forgotten what happened in the NY Senate race, Hillary was creaming Rudy. I know he dropped out due to his “health” but the fact is he was going to lose. The media remembers this and are betting on it.

I’m really tempted to disparage the poll’s French origins out of habit, but the French are our friends again for the moment so reluntantly I’ll pass on the temptation.

Still doesn’t mean I’m a big believer in this polling unit. Good polls are Rass, Mason Dixon, even battleground I’d accept. Even so? I never expect conservative principles or candidates that are the choice of conservatives to do well in THIS polling company so I’m pleasantly surprised he’s relatively close.

Since this thread is about polling numbers, there is a new article published today with Iowa polling numbers. First time Fred appears in their polling and he’s second.

http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071006/NEWS09/71005048/1001&lead=1

Please check it out. Alan Keyes is at 2% and Hunter is stuck at 1% [same as the last polling in May].

There is a thread about Cynthia McKinney may run for President from the Green (?) party. That is going to mess the polling numbers up...

It gets hard to keep track of them all sometimes. PRS, you might have to reconsider supporting John Cox, or maybe a Cox/McKinney ticket? Is that wild enough? It makes me ill thinking of possible campaign graphics.

Fred Thompson is within four points of Rudy Giuliani in the latest AP-Ipsos National Poll concluded October 3

B..B..Bu...But what about all those articles that came out every day last week telling us that he's bumblin', stumblin', fumblin', and basically bombing out all over the campaign trail.

... and not to mention the fact that he has a "trophy" wife.
