A shirtless madman wielding stolen knives went on a bloody midtown rampage yesterday - stabbing a restaurant worker and a psychologist walking her dog before being shot by an off-duty cop, authorities said.
Deranged Lee Coleman stood wild-eyed over the dog-walker, methodically plunging a knife into her body and face over and over - even pausing to change knives as the woman lay in a pool of blood, screaming for help.

I think we all know what must be done: We must create legislation creating a ban on knives!

Yup. Although what they outlawed are essentially “assault knives.” Similar to the “assault rifle” ban in the US, they banned scary-looking knives while leaving knives with essentially identical function legal.
The guy in the article obviously used perfectly normal kitchen knives, and there is now a movement in UK to ban pointy kitchen knives.
I just read the article on Drudge and thought the exact same thing about the sobriety test thing. What in the hell does that have to do with saving a woman’s live? And why didn’t anybody try to help this woman?
For those who don’t to carry a gun or those who don’t have a CCW. This is reasonably priced and legal to carry in 40 states but prohibited in New York.

The sad thing is it sounds like except for the Chef and the Off-duty cop everyone else simply ran away. It is a horrible thing that someone can be being butchered in the middle of the road in NY and most people will simply run away. Thank God the off duty cop was there because it appears that everyone else was too worried about their own skins to do anything to help this lady.

For all the people who witnessed the whole thing, why didn’t anyone do a damn thing? They all just stood/sat and watched the psycho stab the woman over and over. She would have died had the off duty officer not been there.
This poor woman. She was using a cane and wearing a neck brace from a recent accident, and now this.

Do you suppose that Chin was given a sobriety test for his own protection? I mean for when the mental patient sues for getting shot? Honestly, do you think in any ‘red’ city or town in this country that most of the people would be fleeing to save themselves? I’m beginning to think that the ‘red’ areas and the ‘blue’ areas of this country should group separately and form their own governments. I suspect that living in the ‘red’ areas would be a pleasure but living in the ‘blue’ areas, well they probably couldn’t sustain themselves.
