The Female Factor (Hillary's Secret Weapon?)
Washington Post ^ | 8 October 2007

Sen. Hillary Clinton's national lead surged last week in both Post-ABC and AP polling, solidifying her position as the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination. Her sizable advantage raises the prospect of a woman's heading a major party presidential ticket for the first time. Is the potential to make history having an effect on the race?

According to the latest Post-ABC poll, Clinton's campaign for the Democratic nomination has attracted broad support from women, and nearly a third of women who favor her for the Democratic nomination say the possibility that she would be the first female president is a factor in their support.

Overall, 57 percent of all women say they'd vote for Clinton if their state's primary or caucus were held now, 15 percent would support Barack Obama, 13 percent John Edwards. And 31 percent of women who back Clinton say the chance to vote for a first female president is factor in their support. Eleven percent call it a "major" reason for their vote preference, 18 percent say it is a "minor" reason. Among single women, 38 percent say the historic possibilities of Clinton's candidacy factor into their support.

Don’t you have to be a female to take advantage of the female factor?

“Don’t you have to be a female to take advantage of the female factor?”

Bill Clinton took advantage of plenty of females.

The Female Factor (Hillary's Secret Weapon?)

Except that she's a lesbian.

American moms & dads don't support lesbians.

Hillary's victory in 2000, in NYS, demonstrated a large "hidden" female vote.

She ran a million votes behind Al Gore in NYC and Buffalo (one important fact about her is that the brothers and sisters don't like icy white bitc*es).

However, she ran better than she polled, and she made up her urban losses with the votes of upstate Republican women.

In a post election poll of last-minute Hillary deciders, the most popular choice for the question "what position of Senator-elect Clinton helped you the most in your decision" was "I don't know".

Anybody who thinks she will lose on her negatives doesn't know much about women.

>>Among single women, 38 percent say the historic possibilities of Clinton’s candidacy factor into their support.<<

This, unfortunately, is the key to her hopes and our nightmares.

How likely is it that she is showing more support among men in polls than she will actually get (in other words-are men afraid to give pollsters the politically incorrect response?)

Most women I know think she should have dumped Bill way back when. They aren’t voting for her because they’ve heard of their plan to get Hillary into the White House too. Most of my friends think very little of her & won’t vote her way.

What in the world are these idiotic women thinking? Have they not questioned her background, not wondered why she always attacks, always switches sides as she does in her sex life, she has no background in national security, a complete and utter hatred of our military and the worst, complete disdain for American sovereignty. She is the total fool when it comes to making decisions, it is always based on her love for European Marxism. She is fatally flawed and only women who are in the same category seem to find her “presidential”. Wake up, America, get rid of this demonic fraud and send her back to Arkansas or Chicago or New York.

That fact that there are people who would vote for a President
simply because it is a female is disturbing. If they were not
trying to bring all of us down with them I would lean to let
them learn the hard way.

It seems the stupidity of Americans has no limits.

I’m just shaking my head. Women who vote for her ‘just because she could be the first woman’ President are clueless.

I would have no qualms voting for a woman for President..but not THAT woman. I wouldn’t mind seeing Lynn Cheney running for public office. Elizabeth Dole would have my vote, too. but never Hitlery.

What in the world are these idiotic women thinking?

They fear abandonment, and think that with a woman as President maybe somebody will be there to help them in their hour of need.

I agree with the other poster that it's suburban, nominally Republican white women who are going to give Hillary the victory - because most of these types are generally apolitical, but highly susceptible to the charms of the Nanny State.

“possibility that she would be the first female president is a factor in their support.”

“Oh, I get it, that’s why it’s a secret.”

Yep, there is indeed a dirty little secret that Hillary and her team are very well aware of. That secret is that many moderate and even conservative women very strongly desire a woman president. AND, they will thereby disregard their own personal, political, religious and philosophical values, hold their nose, and “pull the handle” for Hillary. Sooo, fellow Freepers, don’t assume that your faithful wives and girl girl friends are going to vote the same as you. they will lie...

"the chance to vote for a first female president is factor in their support"

I've said it before: we're in the "Oprah" stage; women should be given a chance to break through the "glass ceiling", whether qualified or not.

There are just too many soap-opera/Dr. Phil/Oprah/Sally Fields-types out there that would vote for ANY female on the ballot, no matter what.

Scary, but true.
