Howie Carr live thread for the week of Oct 14. Including his Sun 10/14 Herald column.

The show is still up in the air; meeting is supposedly being held tomorrow. Greater Media wants Howie to do mornings for them but Entercom still feels he is their property, etc. Todd Feinburg has been filling in in the meantime. If I hear anything I'll pass it along.

Yes; as I imagined Deval’s phone call, what would her response be? “Why you backstabbing—er—uh, well, I am sorry to
hear that, Governor...”

Is it me, or is this the second time in a row that they’ve swallowed the (And *NOW* it’s *TIME*...) intro at 3PM?

Fri ping...I don’t think there’s a column by Howie in
today’s paper. On a vacation/personal day?

things still in a holding pattern with regards to Howie’s
show. As we said, he’s appealing the most recent ruling and who knows when he’ll be back on air. When something happens
you’ll be pinged, and I’ll try to put his columns up at
least

Have you been called for a radio survey?

My only time was way back when WJIB FM was playing "Beautiful" music. The woman on the other end finally said she didn't know any thing about WJIB, and I said, "They play dentist office music."

Come to think of it, it must have been when they were doing an awful lot of advertising on tv, too.

the closest I got to it was back in the late 70s or early 80s when it was a mail in survey for “RAM” _-Radio Audience
Measuring. Early 80s, I think...at the time I was maybe 20
or so and put down WDLW, an AM country station in Boston!

Entercom probes online vandalism
Posted by Jessica Heslam at 2:44 pm

Executives at the Entercom-owned WRKO (680 AM) are now “looking into” whether one of their employees altered former morning-drive host Scott Allen Miller’s Wikipedia biography, changing it to say he was heavy into Satan worship and enjoys sex with wild pigs.

On Monday afternoon, a spokesman for the station told me they weren’t investigating the vandalism and Wolfe never e-mailed me back. My story on Miller’s maligned entry ran Tuesday. Several blogs also wrote about the vandalism over the weekend.

On Tuesday, Miller sent an e-mail to WRKO programming director Jason Wolfe and Entercom Vice President Julie Kahn reminding them that they had all signed a non-disparagement agreement when he left the station and that he wanted a public apology.

The station’s IT manager confirmed to Miller that the person who altered his entry did it from an Entercom computer.

In an e-mail sent to Miller on Tuesday, Wolfe said he and Kahn were “looking into it” and they had just learned of it late Monday afternoon.

Wolfe wrote: “We understand you’re upset about what was written and we absolutely do not condone it. We would never condone comments like that about any employee, present or past. We have not, and will not, violate our nondisparagement obligations to you and we expect that you will not violate yours to us.”

“I’m glad they’re looking into it,” Miller said today. “They should look into it and they should apologize.”

What a bunch of yo-yos at WRKO.

Thinking about it, didn't one of the MA congresscritters have his staff make changes to Wikipedia?

Knowing WRKO likes hiring inept former gub'mint types, did they hire any former congo staff people recently?
