What an inverted load of crap question.

How about this.

Should pharmacists be forced to sell drugs that, in their professional opinion, are dangerous?

Yes 48.5%

Total votes: 3026

Folks, this poll could use some help.

My suggestion for their next poll question — just e-mailed to them.

Should pollees who vote that pharmacists do not have
the right to not sell the morning after pill, be reminded that:

A **private business** has the ABSOLUTE right to decide what they will and WILL NOT SELL...period!

Should vegan grocery store checkout clerks be able to refuse to sell meat to customers because they find it morally objectionable? Of course not. Should the guy at the Wal*Mart sporting goods counter refuse to sell you a shotgun because they object to guns? Again, of course not. This is the same thing. If their sensibilities clash with their job, then they need to look for a new line of work. It’s that simple.

This would be equivalent to forcing doctors to perform abortions even if they morally object.

They force a pharmacist to murder someone but object to the death penalty for people who so richly deserve it.

The left is so hypocritical.

I agree. Either find an employer who agrees with your position or do the job you were hired to do. These guys knew the job description called for filling legal prescriptions for FDA approved medicine when they accepted their positions. If they feel so strongly about not doing the job they were hired to do, why take the job? Do these pharmacists demand the deduction of profit percentage earned from the store distributing medicine they refuse to sell from their salary?

Your examples are not relevant.

These guys are forced to sell something that they know will result in the death of a person, it’s the reason the drug exists in the first place - to kill. That’s forcing them into becoming participants of another person’s murder.

That’s a whole different issue than not selling someone else meat just because you object to it.

Shall Muslims be forced to sell pork products while employed at a grocery store? Shall Muslim cab drivers be forced to ferry passengers with liquour?

But selling pork will result in Eternal Damnation.

Except that these drugs have not been around as long as many pharmacists.

What do you do about someone who took the job BEFORE these drugs were put on the market? They didn't take it knowing that they would be expected to dispense this kind of drug.

IOW, you don't have any problem telling someone who objects to participating in murder that he has to take a hike if he doesn't like it.

It's not like this drug isn't available at other pharmacies who employ pharmacists with no conscience. The women who want to slaughter their own flesh and blood can go somewhere else to find the drug.

It’s that simple.

So you are equating the slaughter of animals and the sale of an inanimate weapon with providing the means to murder a child?

Something is that simple, but not this debate.

It’s not a matter of *sensibilities* or *objections*; if it were simply a preference, then I’d agree with you. It’s not.

It’s about murder.

So, you were looking for DailyKos, and ended up on FR?!?

That's a new one.

Should muslims have the right to not ring up pork chops and beer if they morally object?

Some people do have to find a new line of work

Only people who are in favor of killing children are allowed to be doctors or pharmacists.

It's a new rule.

If there's an unethical practice going on, experimenting on the disabled, forced sterilization, abortion, etc, everyone who objects should obviously be forced to quit. Makes perfect sense?
