“First hour classes at 9:45 a.m., after catered breakfast....”

We can’t blow up terrorists on an empty stomach now can we? :)

Even Devil Dogs need a guardian Warthog or Spectre.

That’s easy silly...

Why do you think the Air Force has Security Police, we’re the grunts of the Air Force.

What’s a few books compared to an 80lbs ruck and an M60 ;)

Pity on the poor kid who tries to sneak a jelly doughnut into study hall.

"“...to open an Air Force academy high school in 2009.”

---- but who will carry their very very heavy books?"

Funny, but I seem to remember handily beating the Marines in tug-of-war when we squared off against them in the branch olympics in New York back in 93...;-) I served as a C-141 crew chief on McGuire AFB, NJ. Not ALL Marines are that tough...;-)

This will succeed beyond anyone’s wildest expectations. The Marines are experts at turning pogues into highly motivated, self disciplined citizens. My only concern is that this initiative will siphon off talented young men and women from a force already stretched thin. The Corps would do well to draw upon the talent pool of retired Marines who would jump at the opportunity to serve in this capacity.

For some of these kids, the USMC will be the only father they have ever known.

This is an investment in the USMC's future. They will reap many more qualified recruits from the work of the ones working at this school.

Anyway, they can just use the recruiters from CA that can't visit a school anyway...they are not busy!

P.S. My stepson is proudly serving in Japan (Actually in the US right now for more training)!

Seriously, this is the best idea I've heard since I graduated from private prep school in 1968. The teachers didn't take any shti from the students.

Good news, but...Everybody chill for second.

What is Chicago getting out of this? And by Chicago, I mean Hizzoner R. Daley and his Democratic Machine (TM). I can't see them allowing anything that isn't 1) a major payoff/skim/scam for themselves, and 2) a liberal policy with authoritarian overtones (ban trans-fat, ban liver pat tee, welcome to our sanctuary city, get out the Dead Vote, etc.).
