"wars are not won in tug-of-war contests..." True, but wars are not won on BRAWN alone, either...;-)

“True, but wars are not won on BRAWN alone, either”
no shiite...
But I’ll take one Marine into combat any day over a whole company of Airmen, thank you!

Yea, well get back to reality, the article is about the Marine Corps ability in educating, building character and discipline; not F-22’s...

The fact that the great majority of Airmen aren't infantrymen notwithstanding, I agree that the finest (land-based) fighting force on the planet is the United States Marines...
When it comes to OTHER aspects of warfare, some of the other branches (by their inherent nature) are more capable...;-)

"Yea, well get back to reality, the article is about the Marine Corps ability in educating, building character and discipline; not F-22s..." Yes, you are correct. However, you and I chose to "stray" off the topic ever so slightly to discuss parallel matters. Reality has not been usurped to allow us access to this point. In fact, it is doing quite well...;-)

“land-based?” What part of Marine don’t you comprehend?
But, I’ll concede that you guys may be more “capable” at “tug of wars” LMAO

“What is Chicago getting out of this? And by Chicago, I mean Hizzoner R. Daley and his Democratic Machine (TM).”
I assume the USMC is footing at least part of the bill for the school, thereby freeing up more money for Daley to feed to his minions.

I just ran the first YMCA BOOT CAMP CHALLENGE here at the new GR YMCA. We got a group of about 30 kids and gave ‘em 12 hours of boot (except for a nap time, which lasted 5 minutes before they were rudely awakened.) 2 hours of CPR, 40 minute ASVAB, 500 YD Swim, Pushups Situps and 3 mile run, Water Survival, Drill Competition...and chow was ....MREs ...ok and subs.
But all in all it was a tremendous group of kids. We had great help from the YMCA, the Lifeguards, Recruiters and it was an honor for us to work with those young men and women.
Semper Fi to the Chicago USMC H.S.

Your point about California recruiters not being busy is well taken.
