Moralist Fred Thompson for President

Per AP’s Liz Sidoti, “ ‘Some think the way to beat the Democrats in November is to be more like them. I could not disagree more,’ the one-time Tennessee senator says in remarks he is to deliver before the Conservative Party of New York.

"’I believe that conservatives beat liberals only when we challenge their outdated positions, not embrace them. This is not a time for philosophical flexibility, it is a time to stand up for what we believe in,’ Thompson adds.

Thompson is pro-life and pro-traditional family, that is, not in favor of homosexual activity.

From his official site, he states:

“I am committed to:

 “Using the Presidency to encourage policies that promote a culture of life, strengthen the institution of marriage and traditional families, and advance freedom of religion.”

“. .. culture of life. . .” That’s what pro-lifers want to hear, have to hear from a candidate. No squeamish position. A bedrock position.

“. . .institution of marriage and traditional famlies. . .” That once again is what moralists want to hear, have to hear from a candidate. Making that positive testimony, Thompson wipes out any question as to his position on practicing homosexual activity.

“. . .advance freedom of religion.” That is his moral statement against secularizing America. It is his determination to hold to the Judeo-Christian American heritage.

 “Combating the spread of obscenity over TV and other media by making sure parents can better exercise their responsibilities.”

“. ..making sure parents can better exercise their responsibilities.” That puts the moral responsibility of rearing children on the wisdom of parents, not the secularized authority of school or government. That is what moralists want to hear, have to hear.

 “We need judges who recognize their role in our democracy is to interpret, not make, the law. I am committed to appointing strict constructionist judges who will interpret the law, not impose their views on us by legislating from the bench.”

“. . .strict constructionist judges who will interpret the law, not impose their views on us. . .” Sane Americans who do not want the nation blended in with Mexico, Canada and adopting the worldly positions of Europe have Thompson’s convictions made public.

 “I strongly support the Second Amendment of the Constitution, which protects an individual’s right to keep and bear arms.”

Moralist Republicans cry out for a strong-willed person who will state biblical convictions without compromise. Thompson does that. The others candidates waffle.

Moralist Republicans cannot settle just for any candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton. Electing Rudy Giuliani is in reality electing Hillary Clinton. The two are the same when it comes to pro-choice, pro-homosexual lifestyles supported and working daily from a liberal opportunistic base.

Mitt Romney claims to have experienced a conversion regarding his move from pro-choice to pro-life. Can we ever believe a once-liberal Republican. Take Arnold Schwarzenegger. While running for office, he was anti-homosexual lifestyle. Now he signs two bills granting homosexual practice its statewide freedom.

Bob Davis, chairman of the Tennessee GOP and a longtime aide and friend of Thompson’s, said “’Certainly, conservatives would see a home in Fred Thompson if they would just check his voting record.’

“Thompson does not have to worry about getting in late. His high profile as a politician and an actor gives him instant recognition.

“’Just this last week, he talked to 6 million people every day on [the ABC radio show hosted by] Paul Harvey,’ Davis said. ‘I don’t think any of the other candidates can say that,’” per Sam Youngman on The Hill site.

Thompson has been a consistent moralist through the years.
