Thanks to nosy neighbor Millie Hazelwood, Madison, New Jersey has its own Gladys Kravitz to make sure that delicate sensibilities are not offended. Millie spotted a hanging figure amongst the Maines family Halloween display and found an opportunity for relevance and her 15 minutes of fame.

I’m offended by gourds that are slashed and mutilated and turned into hideous expressions of ghoulish, macabre humor.......

Now the left has made an incursion into Halloween, a set of bizarre superstitions practiced by many people in October. The left just wants to eliminate another aspect of our culture.
I have no use at all for this aspect of our culture, but damn the left for trying to eliminate it.

Being the vengeful pr*ck I am, if Millie had done this to me, in the 1st place the dummy would still be hanging - AND I would have immediately searched for every Lawn Jockey I could find and place them prominently on my front lawn. And if possible have them all face her house.
That'd give Millie and the NAACP something else to be offended by.

I am deeply offended by people who are so easily offended and am even more offended that they are offended when I am offended.
I am even more deeply offended by the easily offended when they frivolously waste my tax dollars to shield them from being offended.

I would have just painted the face white and put a cowboy hat on it along with a sign that read:
Horse Thief
Let's see them try to make that hanging about Jim Crow

Those who haven’t read this whole piece are missing a treat (Halloween or not). Katie O’Malley did a terrific job of analysis and writing, and I hope Millie Hazelwood and the whole town of Madison,N.J., reads it.
Thanks for posting it...glad I got to read it.

There has been a number of these halloween deco complaints in our Soviet Jersey as of late.
I always hear the remarks about how rude Jersey people are. Pretty much because we are a sarcastic bunch by nature. But, I must say, I’m really impressed with how tolerant we have been. I really wonder what the tipping point will be.

I had to research the story further to verify it wasn’t satire.
I don’t think people like Millie understand that when they jump to conclusions and become overly sensitive about everything, then everyone stops believing the real stories. I had a real encounter with racism once, and no one believed me. There are so many people lying or just imagining racism, that everyone is skeptical now.
Does anyone have a link to the video, btw?

What gives the NAACP or anyone for that matter any right to say you have to take something down on your property because THEY find it offensive??
The people who get these kinds of complaints should stand up and show they are not going to be pushed around. SCOTUS has already ruled no one can make you take down a Christmas decoration which is essentially the same thing here only a figure of hallowen.
