Well, quick on your feet is generally not a reference to the cadence of ones speech; its a reference to your wit, which is akin to mental sharpness. One could easily be quick on their feet and speak with a southern accent. Therefore I think my interpretation of not being quick on ones feet, as being slow, is quite reasonable. That some criticized Churchill’s style is certain - that his ability was likewise impugned by his contemporaries, was rare and unreasonable when it did occur.
Dunno about that...he’s been running a strong second place and that’s no slouch.
I also think his immigration proposal will inch him into a strong first place.
Mitt Romney? Is that you?
Sorry your boy is losing, WS. Get used to President Fred.
He’s got to be a Willard fan. They’re collectively the most vapid, superficial campaign supporters I’ve ever seen.
But he does have less of a margin for error.
In another year, if a candidate came off as inarticulate or confused, people might find it endearing.
That's a lot less likely this year.
My comment was no exaggeration. Compared to Guliani, McCain and Romney, Fred Thompson stands out in intelligence.
I picked up on the quality of his intellect by reading his legal briefs and opinions. His command of history, American history, law and the Constitution is unmatched. I have posted comparisions with Lincoln and have received acknowledgements that he is indeed a deep thinker on par with Lincoln.
Guliani may be a fast talker as is expected in New York City, McCain may charm about Woodstock issues and Romney is ultra smooth, but none of them can hold a candle to Fred Thompson in intellect. Liberals know this and they fear him.
Fred’s southern charm and folksy manner masks the deeper qualities about him. He does not flaunt his brilliance and it would be unseemly for him to do so as Romney attempts to do.
Fred has the insight that none of the others have when it comes to plugging the problems that have plagued America for over four decades, one of which is an out of control federal judiciary.
He is the right man for America and so far his political team is doing better and better.
The Fredheads will not be moved by reality, so I think you’re wasting your breath.
If you point out objectively that Fred is not a good speaker, has no real agenda, and looks like half a corpse, you’ll only be accused of “fearing” him.
Do you only assess intelligence by reading test scores in your daily life? Are those you know intimately the only ones you measure up? We have all seen a great deal of both FDT and GWB, at least those of us who have paid attention. There is no serious case to be made for the proposition that the two are similar in intellectual ability or communication style. W is a very confused man as his pathetic efforts to justify our ongoing war amply demonstrate. Fred is not, as his campaign to date amply demonstrates.
Presumably you understand this full well, which is why you haven’t even tried to argue the point.
That was too easy. Heh heh heh...
Take my word for it. That’s the safest kind.
That’s how I see it too, so it must be right. ;-)
I don't evem know to say to that... you must mean Lincoln Chaffee.
“You dont challenge any of my conclusions you only suggest I have no basis for drawing them..” Correct, which is what I said. It’s all conjecture. Thank you for acknowledging my point.
Was one of those great legal briefs in defense of CFR for the 2003 SCOTUS. A real genius.
Too bad you can’t recognize intelligence when it reveals itself.
As I told you before Hunter deserves better.
Yep, just another snot-nosed heckler who found a keyboard.
To whom are you referring?
