Wednesday Cloture Vote Set For DREAM Act Amnesty Bill (October 23) Last night, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) filed to invoke cloture on S. 2205, Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbins (D-Ill.) new stand-alone DREAM Act amnesty bill. The cloture vote, for which 60 YES votes are necessary to prevent a filibuster on the measure, is set for Wednesday, October 24. Reid is attempting to bring this nightmarish amnesty bill to the floor under Senate Rule XIV without it ever having been debated in committee... Click here for more background on the DREAM Act.
It is imperative that NumbersUSA members call their senators today to ask them to vote NO on cloture for S. 2205.
Call your senators today to ask them to oppose the DREAM Act: 202-224-3121.

I’m proud of my Oklahoma U.S. Senators - James Inhofe & Tom Coburn.
America desperately needs CONGRESSIONAL TERM LIMITS for the rest of the corrupt, self-serving legislators who are costing Americans billions of dollars with their foolish and failed spending projects.
I pray this amnesty garbage from the dream act goes down in flames.
What I find interesting is that in a time when education is so expensive and is being pushed as the only answer to success why sould we be expected to open the doors to illegals’ illegal children. The parents surely knew there were consequences to their bringing their children to this country. This is just and extension of the ‘anchor baby’ nonsense if we give them a path to citizenship and access to higher education including all the financial programs. They are pushing that they will join the military but I don’t believe this. It is a ploy. Some may join the military but I would doubt many will. Beside anyone one who joins the military I DO believe deserves citizenship if they serve and receive an honorable discharge.
We need to call and keep calling. It has worked before.
bttt. If you think it’s useless to call your congresscritters then go to numbersusa.com. On the home page is a list of senators. The ones in black are fencesitters. Give ‘em a call and kick ‘em off on our side.
The 60,000 number is a flat out lie. Let ‘em know it.
They get it, they don’t care. Want to know what the Senate and their staffers think about us? Go read www.thecapitolist.com
You will have a better understanding of what we are dealing with.
I have read that stuff. Such a nice calibre of workers in our legislators’ offices. We should complaint about them and their postings. You know what—I really don’t care what these punks think. They need to answer the phone and do their job. Makes me smile every time I call and force them to pay attention to what I am saying.
POLL
Do you believe that all the efforts to confer benefits on illegal aliens are designed to expedite a nationwide massive voter fraud?

We sure could use some rabble rousers about now. I am sick of this vampire bill that never gets buried. Hey, that might be a good Halloween costume—Shamnesty coffin with Dream Act inside.
BTTT.
Called in to Boxer & Feinstein.
They are taking orders from foreign masters. It would not surprise me if Reid is being blackmailed for something horrific.
When 70% of NYers are opposed to drivers licenses for illegals, yeah, I think they get it. It’s the vote buyers who are stuck on stupid.
BTT
Calling the Senators..AGAIN..who apparently can’t take the hint of a systems crash as occured before. According to hawkins on Rightwingnews McConnell is on our side this time, doesn’t hurt to have an election coming up does it Mitch? and the GOP leadership is working to line up votes to kill it. They aren’t sure if they will have enough, say it’ll be close.
Last time Democrats helped kill the bill, I wonder i they will this time?
Guess harry just wants to keep his approval ratings lower then the President’s.
On an unrelated but happier note..I finally have a reason to vote in ‘08. Dino Rossi is expected to announce his intent this week to run for Governor again after it took three vote counts to steal the election for Gregoire. This has put a huge smile on my face. Have to share. :-D
The frenzy of the senators to pass amnesty, dirctly or indirectly, sure raises red flags as to their real agenda.
Huh?
"Congress granted amnesty in 1986, and that just encouraged more illegal immigration, Hatch said. I opposed amnesty 20 years ago, and Im even more determined not to allow Congress to repeat the same mistake this time around. We shouldnt give an edge to those who have broken the law when there are thousands of people in other countries who are playing by the rules and have been waiting in line to come into the United States.-- Orrin Hatch
OTOH, a call to Bennett would be useless.
What is the count estimate on this. Are there 40 votes to stop it?
