Well there are a few Baptists here too. A couple of white people also. Heck I even saw a black woman the other day!
A lot of our young people are in the service and we are very strong on supporting our military.

The government has a number of options. The land needed for the border fence can simply be "taken" with compensation set by the court in case the landowner rejects the offer.Ayiii, NO, Señor! That would REDUCE local tax revenue, so the government can't use eminent domain. See Kelo.... /sarc>

I have lived 9 miles from the border for the past 20 years. Maybe, I dont understand as you have flown over the border and you are a know it all. NOT.
////////////////
I used to work for US customs and border patrol.
It was generally understood that that the US could stop the flow of illegals over the border in a heartbeat if there were the political will to do so. But the orders came right from the white house to let the flow continue.
Right now the Bush administration is doing the least they can get away with.
Bush administration policies have turned counties around washington dc into border towns. more americans have been killed by illegals in the last six years than have been killed in Iraq. 25% of the people in federal prisons are now illegals.
Americans do not want men like you to die.
But you do need to understand this business has stop.

These guys need to go back to their country of origin and Bush needs to quit attacking American citizens with bizzare ways to not build the fence.

I’m guessing that the ‘true border’, by treaty, is the mid-line of the river; and he is talking about having the wall/fence above the high water line on the northern side.
That IS, technically, “moving the border north”, if one defines the border as the fence, rather than the actual boundary.
It isn’t even a red herring, it’s spoiled lutefisk.
In point of fact, the border would not move, but it would be protected at an advantageous place of our choosing on our side.
Analogy: One does not build “border forts” physically abutting the legal border, but where they can effectively control & protect that border.
Analogy II: Ranch fences rarely are built exactly on the property line in rough terrain; but they are not placed on the rancher’s neighbor’s land, either...but that does not change the legal, surveyed boundary.

Most are Catholic in the Valley. But I agree they support the military.

Build the fence everywhere except these disputed sections. That will funnel all the illegals through those points. When these land owners and towns who have refused it have had enough and are begging for a fence charge them for it.

What is that about? If some of our land is in Mexico, let's go take it and build the fence there! So build the fence on the Mexican side of the river?

Exactly. I don’t want to even give an inch to Mexico. Where ever we decide to do border patrol has no bearing on where our border is.

Nah, just use ‘electronic’ means for that stretch. There are other places along the border where a physical fence would not work, so they’re planning electronic monitoring in those places, why not here, as well?

They could simply drop a 40,000 volt line in the crick and wait.

"Give me $3,000 and you can survey all you want, but it doesn't mean I am not going to fight you" on building the fence, Hart said."
HA! I know Johnny Hart. The Riverside Club is built on the Rio Grande River. A great place to watch the sunset, have a cold beer and watch the Mexican Nationals float across using empty milk jugs as floats.

Ahumada, whose border city has already denied fence-planners access to city property No problem, build the fence on the North side of Ahumda, then they can go through customs every time they want to go North into the United States.
