JOHN & LIZ ARE 'FIRST' COUPLE (Poll of women considers the Clintons to be the least happy marriage)
NY Post ^ | October 12, 2007 | CARL CAMPANILE

If the presidential race were decided by which candidate and spouse have the most blissful marriage, Democrats John and Elizabeth Edwards would be measuring the White House for drapes, a poll of women found.

And Hillary and Bill Clinton would be locked out of another reign at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., according to the Ladies Home Journal survey.

The poll found 52 percent of women believe the Edwards' have a happy marriage, tops among the politically powerful couples.

Barack and Michelle Obama placed second, with 43 percent of respondents saying the duo is happy together.

By comparison, only 29 percent said the Clintons have a happy marriage while 38 percent said it was unhappy. Among all the couples, the Clintons' relationship was the only one described as more unhappy than happy.

Republican Rudy Giuliani's third marriage, to wife Judith, has turned out to be a charm - 34 percent described their relationship as happy, compared to 11 percent unhappy.

The Giulianis were right up there with fellow GOPer John McCain and wife Cindy - 35 percent considered the McCains' marriage a success.

Surprisingly, the four-decade story-book marriage between Mitt and Ann Romney hasn't captured the public's imagination.

Only 24 percent said the Romneys were a happy couple. But 44 percent said they didn't know enough to make a judgment...

This story was mentioned on Monica Crowley's radio show today. Considering all of the effort Rupert Murdoch has done to ingratiate himself with the Clintons, I'm surprised the Post printed it.

Lest we divert attention away from the 1000 reasons NOT to let the molester and power hungry cackler back into the white house for another four years.

When asked about Rudy, some women polled probably asked: “which wife?” or “do you mean the gay couple he lived with?” Confusing, to say the least.

Well, there’s something to it. John and Elizabeth Edwards are boty yuppie ambulance chasers by nature, and both are willing to exploit their family for political gain. So they have common values.

Great. How about a survey based on boxers or briefs? Or what ever Hillary wears (not sure anyone wants to go there...)

There are useful polls, there is pollaganda, and then there is the just plain stupid question. Like women are going to know the state of marriages of candidates they barely know anyway.

What a stupid poll.

The fact that most people don’t know enough about the Romneys to form an opinion tells me all I need to know.

To quote Dennis Miller, “If the Clinton’s marriage were any MORE about convenience, they’d have to install a ‘Slim Jim’ rack at the foot of the bed.”

What a stupid poll.

Considering that women are the majority of the electorate, IIRC 54%, and that their thinking usually leaves me scratching my head, combined with a rather large number of self described moderates and independent voters who tend to decide their vote in the last days of a campaign, I thought it was worth a gander. Have a good day!

Yes. I remember a turning point on TV, when they ceased having quiz shows based on contestants’ knowledge of various kinds of facts, and instead had shows based purely on public opinion. What do people THINK about this? Well, probably most of those don’t even think.

The internet news sites are covered with meaningless polls. Even Weather.com has them, like this one from today:

Who do you think will win the World Series?

Rockies
Red Sox
It could go either way
I don’t watch baseball

This has something to do with the weather? It matters what people THINK about this? I should click one of these because I care so passionately about this kind of poll?

The Romney's are the best most successful marriage out there. Nobody on Earth can depute this. (Only candidates for President of course). All the others except Democrats are divorced. Which is really pathetic. Duncan Hunter has a pretty good marriage too.

Only 24 percent say the Romneys are happy, wth were these women smokin? Apparently they did NOT take the time to do some research...........anyone with 1/2 a brain knows that the Romneys are probably the most happy of the whole group. The Hunters may come second, maybe McCains and Thompsons after that,,,then it’s a toss up with clintooooooooooons coming in last imo!

Hey! They watch TV to stay informed! Like intellectual programs such as this one:

Plus they do a lot of reading - very, very serious high minded literature:

Moreover, it isn't like they are single issue voters, or anything:
