There is great hostility to Govenor Huckabee by many freepers. Since Rasmussen is including Huckabee in the daily tracking poll, it seems he is gaining some traction. I am curious since many on this site have grave doubts about a Huckabee presidency, how many would go to a third party or would just stay home?
If Huckabee is the candidate, I would still prefer him to Hillary or Obama. Same with Giuliani, Romney or any other Repub Candidate except Paul.
If Huckabee is the candidate, I’d advocate voting for Huckabee.
A pro-illegals nominee ? Fuhgeddaboutit.
But there is no way that Huckabee is going to be the nominee. So, this is kind of a silly question. He can enjoy his day in the sun, his very brief look at low double digits, but it will be short-lived.
You don’t state your reasons why - which is typical mentality of the Democrats. You just throw it out there and hope it sticks to the wall.
Look...this is real simple, the MSM and the Dems are NEVER going to allow anybody named Huckabee to be POTUS. He will be painted as a former fat, southern racist who now has flip flopped his way to the GOP nomination.
It’s not gonna happen.
Fair Tax. This is good.
The immigration part of his platform, well, we can always pray for gridlock.
But I would vote for him on the basis of the FairTax alone.
I’ve got nothing against Huck,
(whoever he is),
but I would prefer a nominee that has
a chance of winning.
Thank you for this insult. Keep it for yourself. I guess it's obvious that my potential support for Huckabee, Giuliani or Romney, should one of them get the nomination, is based on "anyone but a Dem" or "the lesser evil" scheme of thinking.

This is getting absurd. What a bunch of whiny crybabies. We’re all throwing temper tantrums by saying that unless OUR guy is the candidate we’re going to stay home and throw the election to Hillary. Hillary must love this childishness.
I would... but only to stop Clinton. That said... I’d be thoroughly disgusted with the Republican party and its rejection of true, conservative candidates.
I’ve never missed voting in election in 50 years but I won’t vote for a RINO and will write in Mickie Mouse for that particular office and that includes the Huckster.
My apologies. I misread your comment. Although it will be hard for a conservative to vote for someone like Giuliani, it’s a sad state of affairs that we now have to go to the polls to vote for the lesser of two evils, which wouldn’t be the first time. However, with Giuliani, we would no longer be the Republican Party.
Again, my apologies.
Could people just grow up?
The next election is deadly serious business.
A vote for a “third party” candidate is just a way of guaranteeing a coronation for Shilery.
Huck is hellary-light, but I would do anything to keep she or obama from becoming pres.
So what did we get? A Democrat Congress and a Speaker of the House who, if you can believe after the House Chaplain says his opening prayer, crosses herself????
Incredible!
However, with Giuliani, we would no longer be the Republican Party. I agree. But I don't think it will come that far. Conservatives won't vote for Rudy in the primaries.
“after the House Chaplain says his opening prayer, crosses herself????”
Just doing a “property check”, specticles, testicles, wallet, and watch.
Is that clear enough?
I would vote for Huckabee in the general election. I will not vote for him in the primary.
No doubt I need them...
I’m going to stay home if someone post one more “What If?” scenarios.
Did you intend to pose your question as a false dilemma, or was that just careless phrasing on your part?
Any conservative who concedes this election to Hillary by staying home or voting third party is a complete idiot.
I’ll vote Stephen Colbert before I vote Huckabee.
Voting for the Republicans just because they are not the Democrats is getting old.
I am voting on the ISSUES, not for a fancy Madison Avenue designer label...
NON-NEGOTIABLE issues:
1. War.2. Border.
3. Terrorism.
4. Second Amendment.
Julie-Annie can go to hell and so can the Republicans if they are dumb enough to push that swill...
Only toddlers get to take their ball and run home blubbering to mommy because no one wanted to play the game they wanted.
Only toddlers think in terms of “It’s all me, my way, what I want, or nothing”.
no I would vote for MH against the evil one.
I am surprised a nanny-stater is getting support.
That's incredibly smart /extreme sarcasm
They talk about a “3rd party” candidate without mentioning who is going to run.
You have that great moral leader himself Newt Gingrich and Pat “Israel hater” Buchanan.
Yours is the grown-up attitude. I'm Thompson at the caucus but if my guy is not the nominee, I pledge my full support to do anything to keep that Commie crook out of my WH.
The fact they they partly destroyed the place and walked off with the furniture isn't enough to convince some people of their evilness. The rest of us will have to do our best to work that much harder.
Thurs. am, I heard Chuck Baldwin tell me that unless I vote for Paul at the caucus, I'm not as good a Christian as he and the very same day in the pm, I heard another radio host tell me that unless I vote for Huck at the caucus I'm not an adequate Christian.
I'm sick of this whole thing. Everyone should support whomever they want during the primary process and then unite to keep this beast out of the WH. Those who believe there will be another day may be right but they may also be wrong.
I’m with you. If a candidate isn’t on the right side of all of those issues, they can shove it.
That's incredibly smart /extreme sarcasm
I am certainly not smart enough to help elect some Republican who is also on the dead opposite of any of those issues... (/extreme sarcasm)
It's always that way. No one is righteous--no not one. Are you perfect? If you are, you owe it to the rest of us to run.
Aren't you whining?
The people who insist that you vote for the party nominee, right or wrong (or left),
and if you say you wont they throw a conniption fit, aren't they whiners?
I guess whining is in the eye of the beholder.
Giuliani can go to hell...

Little babies like to live in “make believe” la-la land. is this harsh? Yes, but this is dead serious and I'm sick and tired of those with baby mindsets.
Tell me, does it feel better when the knife goes in your back if the person holding the knife has an “R” after his name? Are your rights any less violated if the person who violates them is an “R”?
This isn’t a horse race where you go to the window to cash in because you picked a ‘winner’. This is about real values and real principle — life and death stuff — and more importantly, our liberty is at stake. When the “R” is little different than the “D” you are not even slowing the socialist train let alone reversing course.
My demise may come sooner if I vote third party but it’s coming too if I vote for the “R” who thinks like the “D”. I just refuse to vote for my executioner.
>>>But there is no way that Huckabee is going to be the nominee. So, this is kind of a silly question. He can enjoy his day in the sun, his very brief look at low double digits, but it will be short-lived.
bump
You don't seem to be the brightest bulb on the tree...
This is why we have primaries, as I’ve been saying for (martyred sigh) almost two years now. I’ll vote for Hunter or Thompson in the primary, depending on who’s still on the ballot and what I’ve learned about them between now and next April. Once we have a nominee, I’ll decide whether and to what extent I can support him.
\ When the R is little different than the D you are not even slowing the socialist train let alone reversing course.
I'm sick am tired of the BIG LIE that there not a dime's worth of difference between the two parties. There are very big differences in many areas rthat are important. If you claim otherwise, you are either a liar or ignorant.
I won't help to elect either of them... ALL FOUR ARE CONNECTED...
You don't seem to be the brightest bulb on the tree...
Maybe not... but I haven't burned out like you...
Wrong! By voting third party or staying home you WILL be helping elect Hitlery or the RAT candidate. All the clueless wonders who voted for Ross Perot in 92 gave us 8 years of the Clintons.
[Could people just grow up?

It is not us conservatives who need to grow up, it is rinos who would run a liberal like Rudy and pretend he is a conservative and we know that would be disaster. Witness Arnold of Caaaalifoornia.
I would vote third party rather than vote rino.
[Any conservative who concedes this election to Hillary by staying home or voting third party is a complete idiot.]
Any conservative who supports Rudy is a fool as well as a complete idiot to expect someone to vote for a person who does not represent their views. Devil be damned, full speed ahead.
