California now has two new anti-gun bills thanks to pro-RKBA groups who consider the NRA to be 'sell-outs'.

That is a good point. There are also a number of Anti-gun groups who pose as moderate alternatives to the "extremist" NRA for the purpose of deceiving gun owners. Here is the worst example: http://www.huntersandshooters.com/index.php

Try and use one of those ILLEGAL weapons to defend yourself if guns are outlawed and see what happens

If guns are OUTLAWED does it really matter? In that case the ones who come to take the guns will meet the same fate as the criminal that TRIED to harm me and/or my family IMHO its going to come to this anyway some day ( and I hope not soon ) sooooooo you better stock up on guns and ammo while you can .

Guns would have been outlawed for the average person DECADES ago if not for the NRA

I sat and chatted with Larry Pratt for about three hours one evening. He was wearing a very nicely tailored and apparently pricey suit. He does not do bad while helping gun owners.

The NRA is a more effective organization and has WWWWAAAAYYYY more clout in the world of politics. I support both of the aforementioned organizations and think that you are mistaken in your disregard for the NRA.

Divided we fall.

I wouldn't so easily disregard the NRA if they did not so easily disregard the rights of gun owners in the quest for cash and influence.

Gun Owners of America is, by far, the more conservative, protective organization for American gun owners.

I watch Red Dawn once a year to remind me of what could possibly happen .

I don't pay the NRA to compromise with gun grabbers.

I guess they do it for free, then, cause they certainly do it.

I’m out of money and I’m already scared so “organizations” need to get on with it NOW !!! ........ NRA sends me no less than TWO (2) requests for donations a WEEK !

All the donations they get from that effort don’t even cover the snail mail donation requests............maybe they need a calculator. I am preparing to fight the grabbers on the porch as it’s seems they have parked in front of the house and are on the lawn at this point . At the current level of progress observed no gun organization will come to the rescue in time IMO.......

I know they’ve called my house every day for the last two months, including Saturday and Sunday, looking for money. I have caller ID so I didn’t answer the phone, knowing what they wanted. I finally answered the phone, gave them some money, and hey, whadya know, no more calls.

But I do expect results from my gun organization. That means the NRA is responsible for Castle Doctrine, the end of the assault weapons ban, protection for gun manufacturers, CCW laws, the 2000 election and the lawsuits in behalf of the Katrina victims shared with the SAF.

No other gun organization comes close to the NRA as the number one lobbiest group.

By all means join another group but also join the NRA.

The GOA has never accomplished a single thing by themselves. If you don’t like the NRA, join the Second Amendment Foundation. They joined with the NRA for the Katrina victims while the GOA still hasn’t done anything.

Prove it. What has the GOA ever done by themselves?

Answer: Nothing

GOA has accomplished nothing. The NRA takes the fight from the local level all the way to the U.N. .

Good point . SAF is effective when it comes to lawsuits and they are the real deal , like the NRA.

Actually they give extra points for being a incumbent even if the people are anti-gun. They have endorsed Mike Leavitt, Orrin Hatch and Tom Ridge over pro-gun challengers.

Based on their unending solicitations, their expansions to make them look more like AARP and their insistence in creating new branches and divisions, their purpose seems very diluted.

Sadly, they are like the march of dimes. They are a victim of their own success. Much of the organization exists to perpetuate the organization not the Second Amendment.

The Second Amendment exists because unlimited power corrupts not because we like shooting sports.
