Democrats must have victims or they cannot get the support they have to get in order to win elections. Ergo, pander to Hispanic voters. No surprise there. What WILL be interesting is how normally conservative leaning Americans from Mexican heritage will react?

no i didnt hear anything about that. i mighta left the room once or twice, but i didnt hear that. a lot of foreign policy questions. iran, iraq, wmd. thats one area im not sure fred did well. tim said that the kay report said there were no wmd in iraq, but is that true? the kay report left the possibility open that they may have been moved, the infamous trucks across the border. i wondered if fred should have disputed the point, had he been up to speed on it. am i correct? is a moron more knowledgeable than fred on the subject?

If I were to put the list together:

1) Limbaugh
2) Drudge
3) Reagan, even in death his influence is still felt
4) President Bush

I think NC has a dem Governor they have huge problems.

I am there on business 5 or 6 times per year(was there last week) and the influx of Mexicons working in the const. trades and elsewhere and new Spanish businesses, radio etc. is truly amazing.

I just wish he looked as if he more energy and go getting attitude he always comes over as if he is having a nice cosy fireside chat with you. This may work in some quarters especially amongst Republicans but I fear it will not work with the country as a whole.

They want someone who will show energy and whip up a crowd of enthusistic supporters like GWB can. What I have seen of Fred as yet I doubt he can or wants to do this.

I cannot imagine at this stage at any rate Thompson coming over like this

I expected more from Fred as well, but we have to remember the bottom line, and it’s not Fred, Mitt or Rudy. It’s keeping Hillary out.

Doesn’t North Carolina hand out driver’s licenses to illegal aliens?

Yes. NC is also run by Democrats.

Minimum identification the illegals need to get a drivers license is a utility bill or rent receipt to prove NC "residence". Our local helpful DMV office also has a Spanish translator permanently on staff to aid them through the driver's test and the rest of the application process. Every time I've been down there, I've been outnumbered 5-1 by people who can't speak a word of English and I have to take a number to get a number to get a place in line.

We are overrun.

I sincerely hope Fred does not get on the defensive with fat Tim,all he(Mr.Potato head) is doing is trying for a line or two in the Slimes at our expense.

the Mexican-born population of North Carolina went from 8,751 in 1990 to 179,236 in 2000 or more than 20 times in just ten years.

I would say the figures are double or triple that figure today. But, that's just anecdotal old me.

This is the third of four weeks that I’m missing the sunday talk show thread; off on another business trip then up to VA to care for my mother who just had her knee replaced. I’m lurking when I can but not able to post except for this quick note.

I’ll lurk and return as a poster week after next.

As always, thanks Anita for the media nuggets — always one of my fav to read.

Have a good couple of weeks all. See you on the 18th.

I understand but I’d rather have someone to support, as opposed to choosing the lesser of two evils.

I hope our candidate will commit to enforce the laws, whether it’s the illegal alien issue or congressional members breaking the law. Add in lower taxes and less government regulations and I’d be a happy camper.

Saw Fred this Morning on Meet The press . I thought Fred was great .
Thought it odd that he ws not asked at all about his policies announced on Illegal Immigration ,especially after the Hildabeast fiasco.
Could it be that the Fat Democrat Russert is afraid that Fred will garner support by his tough stand on the illegals ? I saw A democrat on Dobbs show say that illegal immigration is the third rail of issues this election cycle .,meaning no one wants to touch it, well I could not disagree more , I think the Republican candidate who embraces it correctly will win easily . The Democrats dont want to touch it because they are for open borders and amnesty ,and that is a LOSER! I think Fed as the nominee has the best position on it and Rudy will cause the issue to be moot. Rudy is like Bush on the issue and Hillary does not want to touch it and that makes all of us losers . Go Fred !!!

I’ve always thought that being Chief Cheerleader at Yale gave President Bush a leg-up on getting folks at his campaign rallies excited. HE was both exciting and...more importantly....likeable too.
