Delightful that Iraq phase may be winding down / ending, IraN appears about to happen and way past due.

We have finally stopped the Iraqi bad guys (from Saddam Hussein on despite the Dimwitocrats) and the potential nukes and bio weapons - which everyone but the drive-by MSM knows were quickly moved to Syria and Lebanon to pre-constructed holding areas (exact GPS known to those in govt.).

And much of it was in Libya, anyway, being developed by Syrian and Iraqi scientists. Until Ghaddafi came in from the cold.

Now we need to finish the rest of threat by “removing” Iran from the picture.

You are the BEST. Any talk about Pakistan over there? Seems to me that they could really throw a wrench into any plans to take Iran threat out.

Well, is there more peace and and calm these days?

Absolutely. Incredibly. Indubitably. Without a doubt. Definitely.

It's been like this for about three months now.

We hardly ever talk about it. The Iraqis hardly ever mention it.

It's as if we're all a little scared to say it out loud. ;-)

The funny thing is nobody here really talks much about any of that. Every now and then Iran comes up in discussion, but that's about it. We talk about the elections, the sucky media, we cut up and act silly, but rarely do we talk about what's happening here.

It's the elephant in the living room. LOL

Ghaddafi is no dummy. He knows that he was next had he not gave up his weapons... I still don’t trust him.

They will never acknowledge our victory in Iraq.

Not ever as long as an opposing political party is promoting victory.

Party before country.

The dogma of the liberal party.

Now that the temperature has cooled down to 85 during the day in North Central Iraq, the nights aren’t too bad.

Yeah, but it's a dry heat. Right? LOL! Stay safe.

BTW, have things calmed down in your area of operations?

Hopefully he will stayed bored silly. However, we must remember there are one hell of a lot of young misguided muslims the world over, that do not get a balanced view of the world, and how things work.
And it is simply to early to get cocky. Al Qaeda and associated groups in Iraq could be remaining quiet. Simply living in holes in old buildings, home of wealthy Saddamist etc.. Waiting for say the November elections to take place, and then go nutzo, to somehow attempt to pursuade the American public to vote for the commiecrats.
Of course within the years time frame that still exists, one heck of a lot of good HUMINT shall lead to further rooting out of those that remain, and still can get through the borders.
We should observe how quiet Afghanistan was for a long time only to erupt into a new phase of violence. Radical Islam will not just go away. It will be around for a long time to come. So as we celebrate these vast improvements taking place in Iraq, let us be on guard for possible set backs. Don't get to punch drunk on current victories.
Will the vast majority of Iraq hold up and continue down the new road, and refuse any foreign or internal elements the opportunity to disrupt all the gains that have so far been accomplished.
I think we must keep this cautionary thought in mind for a bit longer. If the trends we see continue and even improve moreso, then the probability of things staying the course simply increase. Obviously however. Iraq is not Afghanistan. Iraq has so much on it's side to recover and become a democratic ally to the US and western powers. Afghanistan and Pakistan are still in the 7th century in many respects.

I don’t want to sound stupid, bringing up a totally different subjest, but... where is Iraq with regards to oil production?

I haven’t heard about any pipeline bombings or anything like that.

But it would help them and us to have a steady flow of oil (cash) to help get them back on their feet again.

I’m also concerned about the stories of corruption I hear lately. Is the Iraqi government having luck cracking down on this?
