Only the red and green ones. Maybe they’ll change them to blue and white.

Red is very judgmental after all.

The natural question here is : are they going to ban traffic signals? Absolutely... replace them both with one 'purple light'. Purple is much less 'threatening'... and doesn't infringe on ones self-esteem. The driver would see the purple-light and give more thought before deciding whether to stop... or simply drive through.

No, they also contain yellow which matches the stripe down their backs.

The natural question here is : are they going to ban traffic signals? LOL - we'll be left with nothing but flashing yellows everywhere...
I'd have to wear red and green everyday during the nondescript holiday season.
Next to be banned - the word 'holiday', lest it evoke something offensive...

I have a vague recollection of an arcane piece of trivia that at one time, those of the Hibernian persuasion in Syracuse, NY managed to get the green light on top, and the red on the bottom, of traffic control signals.

The Red Guard did that during the Cultural Revolution. All traffic lights in Beijing were changed to red because green was deemed counter revolutionary. It last a very short time before it was changed back. It caused large traffic jams plus some accidents but since most people rode bicycles or took the bus I guess the accidents weren’t too major unless you tangled with the bus Hey Hey Ho Ho Red and Green have got to go. :>)
