Hey, it’s an investment.
I agree. The bogus ARG poll of several weeks back look bought and paid for.
Thompson’s internal polling was also mentioned to have exposed Romney’s press releases on SC support as unadulterated BS.
and the problem is?
Well, it sure is evident that Thompson isn’t trying to win South Carolina.
At least not very hard.
The fact that a Mormon from Massachusetts is in striking distance there ought to show as much. And now he’s complaining that someone is outworking him and putting his money where his mouth is.
But hey, he’s named Fred and was in lots of picture shows. That should be enough.
Priceless.
Fred should pass some campaign finance laws to stop this sort of thing.
Who has the right access to what polls?????
Cue old Batman TV show graphics - POW! BAM! KA-BOOM!
When he says that Mitt is buying South Carolina he also implies that South Carolina voters are offering their votes for sale. That’s probably not a very wise strategy and sounds a little desperate.
Oooh oooh! That’s a great tagline.
He forgot New Hampshire and Iowa.
I think Mitt thinks of it as an “acquisition or merger”...
... done with borrowed money, just like Bain Capital! :-)
On Thursday Governor Romney and his wife Ann traveled to South Carolina to hold events across the state. Governor and Mrs. Romney hosted an "Ask Mitt Anything" town hall meeting at the Applewood Pancake House in Pawley's Island. Governor Romney then traveled to Florence to attend a luncheon at the home of Drs. Jed and Mary Tepper. He later traveled to Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System to tour the hospital and meet with members of the media. Governor Romney finished the day in Fort Mill where he hosted an "Ask Mitt Anything" town hall and BBQ.
On Tuesday Governor Romney returned to South Carolina holding campaign events across the state. Governor Romney addressed the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce in the morning and the Greenville Rotary Club luncheon later that day. He then traveled to Columbia and Summerville where he hosted Ask Mitt Anything townhall meetings. On Wednesday morning, Governor Romney met with area residents at the Donut Man in Myrtle Beach.
He is criticizing someone for spending his own money and you applaud him. What a ridiculous endorsement. I am thrilled that he is not using the government to pay for his campaign. If Fred gets into the game, has he promised not to take public assistance?????
They are not the issue....Have they even noticed most have had a belly full of total government mismanagement? While *real*, critical national problems spread, the punitive sound bites and allegations of discredit fly.
Special interests throw money at power in hopes of influence...It rules the day. I'm sick of it! and it's outta hand!~ From the top down. It's all wrong...It will and has divided us.
There are legitimate rights given to us, to answer to these difficulties.
Sounds like Fred’s a little desperate.
This entire argument (which I’m not about to get embroiled in, considering my knowledge of American politics isn’t as detailed as it could be during election times - I prefer to learn about the President after he’s elected, seeing what he does.) notwithstanding, I’d like to interject.
Fred Thompson’s quote is the kind of thing I’d like to hear more of. “Governor, you can’t buy South Carolina. You can’t even rent it.”.
Even though Romney MIGHT be spending his money to woo voters in constructive ways, Fred appeals straight to their integrity and pride. He states that voters aren’t for sale (although, as we all know, many of them are), even for a little while. Though it’s a bit of an idealistic statement, I’d like to see an idealistic conservative with the flair Fred has in the White House.
