I look forward to working to help Mitt bring his family friendly change to Washington."

Welcoming Ambassador Melady's support, Governor Romney said, "Ambassador Melady has served our country with honor and distinction, and I am proud to have his support and his leadership. We recognize that our leaders in Washington can do more to help build stronger families in America. Ambassador Melady will be a valuable counselor as we bring conservative, pro-family change to our nation's capital."

No. One was a posting at TheAtlantic.com saying that the Romney campaign was going to announce this endorsement. The other was the actual press release. The story at TheAtlantic includes information about the newly appointed ambassador to the Vatican being a top advisor to the Romney campaign. The Press Release doesn't cover that aspect, of course. I'm sorry that you can't tell the difference between a news article and a press release.

I looked it up at Wikipedia, and found this:

Name Years served Pope U.S. President
William Wilson 1981 - 1986 John Paul II Ronald Reagan
Frank Shakespeare 1986 - 1989 Ronald Reagan
Thomas Patrick Melady 1989 - 1993 George H. W. Bush
Raymond Flynn 1993 - 1997 Bill Clinton
Corinne Claiborne Boggs 1997 - 2001 Bill Clinton
James Nicholson 2001 - 2005 George W. Bush
Francis Rooney 2005 - present Benedict XVI George W. Bush

Raymond Flynn is the only one of the bunch I know anything about. He’s a Mass. Democrat politician, but also a good Catholic. That one was a good appointment, and I think clinton came to regret it. The others are pretty much background noise as far as I know, although Reagan had a close rapport with the Pope as they worked to overthrow the Soviet Union.

Hillarious. Desparate, yet hillarious.

Another fake Conservative the Precious campaign bought.

Exactly right. If anyone thinks Mitt is conservative, they are wrong. Mitt is just another in a series of RINO statists. He will make GWB's social spending seem "conservative." Mitt and Rudy are trying to win the Presidency to gratify their own egos. Mitt has no deep understanding of Federalism or limited government. Mitt or Rudy give lip service to our Constitution. Fred seems to revere our Founders and the Constitution.

The media wants the likes of Rudy, Precious Willard, Huckster, Prawn, or McNut nominated, because they will be exceedingly easy to destroy for the general election against Hillary. They’re terrified of Fred.

No, it clearly wasn’t the same information. Not even close. Or perhaps you can point out the bountiful background information about the Vatican’s ambassador detailed in the link you just posted.

I dare ask who is appearing desparate here.

Why does the United States of America have an ambassador at a church headquarters? Do we have an ambassador to the Southern Baptist Convention? To the LDS in Salt Lake City? The RLDS in Independence, Missouri? To the Lutherans? The Buddhists? The coming Islamic Caliphate? Of course not!!

Why does the United States of America have an ambassador at a church headquarters?

Perhaps because the Vatican is a nation-state, headed by an elected monarch who at numerous times in history has commanded the largest military forces in the Western world? Or perhaps because the Vatican has more influence in the diplomatic community than 80 or 90 other "real countries" to which we send ambassadors.

13 years ago, a lot of us thought this guy would be fantastic if he beat Ted Kennedy. Flash forward 13 years and after a disastrous term as Governor, we know what he is beyond a shadow of a doubt and that he would be a menace as President. People in major league denial despite his record. You don’t have to dig deep to see how bad he was... it’s right there in your face. The folks that continue to repeat debunked myths that he’s a Conservative are certifiable loons.

There were some who knew what Mitt was all about, even back then.

Brent Bozell went to MA, and came back utterly disgusted by Romney.

... ‘Mitt Romney Republicans are no different than Ted Kennedy Democrats when it comes to cultural issues,’ Mr. Bozell said.”

How would you know about whether his term was "disastrous" or immensely successful? You're not even from the same region, let alone the same state in which he governed.

There will be a prenouncement thread, an announcement thread, and a SlickWillardblog analysis follow up thread for each streetsweeper and madman who offers an endorsement

And a couple of days later there will be a thread with an article listing how much the Romney campaign's PAC paid to each of the streetsweepers and madmen on which the mittbots will then post dozens of posts decrying the article, the author, the paper the article is in as "liberal, false, biased" much like howls

ON THIS THREAD

Don’t all you Mitt bashers get frustrated with how totally ineffective your constant, petty, sour grapes attacks are? What do you have to show for all the endless hunting down of every Mitt thread to post the same garbage over and over again in it?

If anything, you have helped Mitt. I’ve seen more than a few freepers turned off by your antics. Mitt is moving along and making good progress, not slowed at all by you temper tantrums. Maybe you should try posting your rants in all caps, or getting fancy with HTML and see if that helps.

This question is intended to be neither pro nor anti Romney (although I will almost certainly vote for him).

When these endorsements come out, are they announced as they are received or are they kind of held in the pocket and released in accordance with the Campaign Chairman's master plan?
