Amazing how the citizens of the State are so free with the bond money our children will have to repay. Also they seem so very willing to bail out the Legislature when they take appropriated money (gas taxes) and move them to a pet project instead of building and keeping up our roads. Don't forget to "bend over" for mor of Gov. Perry's toll roads.

I also live in Texas. About 3 or 4 of these things should have passed. The rest should have gone down to a huge defeat.
But I don't have children, so why do I have to care that everyone else's children are getting stuck with these bills...????
Not to threadjack, but what happened in Utah, with the state-wide voucher situation? Were the teachers able to defeat the concept, or not? Thanks.......

Note from California:
Damn! Texas is taking a tried and failed path.
And just where are all the people in California, Texas, and around the nation that talk of caring for children, but make them slaves to debt?

The non-substantive changes could be passed ... the bond issues, especially Prop 12 for roads, should not have passed.
I have children and my taxes are high enough. Our children should not have to live under our failure to prepare and use tax revenue properly and wisely. I would not wish it on my children nor anyone else's. The Legislature needs to be put on notice ... however with this I believe Texas may be the next welfare state. Too many liberal, especially in Austin, believing in government doesn't have or do enough.

It’s not that amazing; these elections are cooked! I know, I live in Texas. I’ve watched in ever growing amazement.

I live in Texas and voted NO for all those that called for a bond. A tax by any other name is still a tax.
Cancer research. All the $$$$ that the Medical Center makes, they don’t need any tax $$$$$

Unfortunately, I knew my vote was wasted in the opposition to many of those “bonds”. I did still vote.

I voted no on all the bond issues. The only one I thought might have merit was #16 but not enough was published on it to make an informed decision. But #12 was a heinous attempt by the Legislature to bail out their miserable a**es and for whatever reason (Stupidity on the part of the voters? Couldn't understand what For vs. Against actually ment? Voting machines too hard to use?) they were given a get out of jail free card by the electorate.
I am surprised that #11 passed wanting your representatives vote to be on record. I though liberals could care less.

Of all the things Texans have lost, they miss their mind the most! We are about to be known as one of the last great states.

And how is the Constitution helped by having all this crap hung on it? This is a preposterous use of the Constitutional amendment process.

My Wife and I voted NO on all the bond issues. We were in shock this morning reading the results.
Even the $556 million LISD (Leander/Ceder Park) package passed. (9 new scrolls over 10 yrs.)
I guess it’s all tied together.
The state is going to force the TTC on us so, we need to prepare for the population to double in the next 10 yrs.
Wait until my kids find out what they’ll pay for in the future. All thanks to the gullible, uninformed voting public. KISS MY ASS!

Took my 10 year old Daughter with me to the polling place last night and explained to her why I voted no on the bond issues.
She asked me “dad don’t you care about people with cancer?”
I told her sure I care I just don’t want you to have to pay for research for the rest of your life.
All a bond is as far as I can tell is a tax you pay later.

OOPS....sorry.
Blonde from Jersey...this happens.

I live in Texas and voted NO for all those that called for a bond. Ditto. I did the same knowing it was a lost cause. Off year elections, when less than 10% of the voters go to the polls, makes the whole state vulnerable to agenda driven opportunists.
I can think of five things most people consider more serious than cancer research. What's next?
