Sorry, to some of us, being pro-life and pro-gun does not give you a pass to be a liberal on every other issue.

???? I'm not supportive of Huckabee one iota. In fact, given his stance on Global Warming, Huckabee is the only candidate other than Rudy to make it on my "Will Not Vote For" List.

But I do find Fred's attacks on Romney and Huckabee, while seemingly going soft on Giuliani, a bit disappointing.

Elvis always left the building, now if he ever returned to that building I don’t know? He’s not coming back today.

That's reasonable, though I wouldn't quite say he's soft on Giuliani. They spent half this very interview on Rudy, more than they spent on Huckabee, and Fred called Rudy out on gun control, immigration, and abortion.

He also took some shots at Hillary. Unfortunately, the headline only mentions Huckabee.

Fair enough. I'd just like to see more of the headlines on him exposing Rudy as I don't see Huckabee as the biggest threat.

I can’t disagree there — more Giuliani bashing from everyone!

:)

Now, if Ted Olson and Deroy Murdock would just get on board, LOL. (pfffft! to Robertson!)

Re Intrade, the Iowa Futures Market, etc. — after our last conversation about these, I looked into their actual accuracy. It turns out that because of the small size of the markets, the relatively tiny amounts wagered and their susceptability to manipulation, they are pretty useless as predictors.

For example, the night before the Iowa Caucuses in 2004, investors thought Howard Dean had 45% chance of winning Iowa, Gephart had 25% chance, Kerry had 20% chance and Edwards had 8% chance.

At the same time Jan 18, 2004, Iowa Electronic Markets investors thought Dean had a 51% chance of winning the overall donk nomination, Wesley Clark had 21% chance, and Kerry had 13% chance.

http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9502E2D81639F93BA25752C0A9629C8B63

The very next day, John Kerry won the Iowa caucuses with 37.6% of the vote, Edwards was second with 31.8%, Dean was a distant third with 18%, and Gephardt was fourth with 10.6%.

Here’s an article that explains why these markets are so unreliable:

Those Spurious Presidential Futures:

When I get a chance I’m going to track down more info and compare and contrast to various polls. If you’re interested, I’ll let you know what I find.

Yeah, Robertson lost all credibility when he implied America was to blame for 9/11. For the life of me I can't understand Olson and Murdock, though!

LOL! “All” would be a dream.

In this case, when it comes to exposing Rudy, I’ll settle for “more”—and the more the better!

It's pandering because such a Federal amendment would have ZERO CHANCE of passing and the politicians who promote it, know it, and know they'll never really be held accountable for results. If it had any realistic meaning in the context of actually becoming law, then it no, it woudln't be pandering, it would be a sincere effort.

“Fred Thompson Calls Mike Huckabee A “Pro-Life Liberal””

LOL. Where have we heard that before?

You know, on one of the liberal websites they made a crack about Fred Thompson - claiming he got up in the morning, looks at the right-wing websites to figure out what to say that day.

I think they might be on to something. It works for me.

If Fred’s reading this, he might want to mosey on to:

>> Only if you ignore his 100% pro-life voting record, his 100% score from the National Right to Life <<

Fred Thompson never had a "100% pro-life" voting record. His actual rating from pro-life groups from year to year was more like 87%. Fairly good, but never perfect.

But the Fredheads have figured out if you repeat a lie long enough it becomes the truth. Hence, Mike Huckabee, who was hailed as "the freeper governor" and beloved by this forum back in 2005 when he was IN office (and personally by the creator of this forum to TWICE be our keynote attraction at the FR inaugural ball) , has now been demonized and reinvented as an evil RINO traitor.

You guys are as shameless as the "Bush lied about WMDs" crowd when it come to history revisionism.

>> Wrong. First, he wants to overturn Roe vs. Wade so that states can make their own abortion law (including criminalizing it if they like). Thompson personally would not criminalize abortion -- i.e., throw people in prison. <<

How DARE you accuse me of being pro-slavery, Mr. Lincoln! I am pro-states rights on the issue. I personally ahbor slavery but who am I to tell Georgia what to do with theirs? Take the federal government out of it and let the states decide for themselves whether to have slavery. I have a plan right now to do exactly that in Kansas & Missouri. Just you wait and see.
